This book was all that Fiona had promised, hero's and villain's abound and Merry is right in the middle ( as usual ) you can almost smell the Nile with Fiona's description and the heat is as she described ( very hot ).
This book had me wanting more every time I read a chapter and I had to stop reading otherwise sleep depravation would have set in, this book should be a film and hopefully will be, one day.
This book is not to be missed even if you have been to Eygpt this book will bring back memories.
Superb writing from a Superb author.
Brilliant.
Bring on the next one, I can't wait.

I found this latest book by accident by looking through my favorite authors.
I really like this series, the characters are believeable and the locatations are really brought to life. You can imagine you are actually in Egypt. I am glad Merry and Adam were married and I shall definitely look for the next in the series.

Once again, Fiona Deal takes us back to the two Egypt’s in her latest outing for Meredith Pink. The pressing realities of modern day Egypt around the time when President Morsi was toppled are the backdrop for the current novel. The remarkably similar situation in ancient Egypt around the rule of Akhenaten is the pressing issue that drives Merry, Adam and their ‘merry’ band. (Sorry for the pun) Akhenaten’s Alibi continues the alliterative series and Egypt continues to reveal her secrets but they are, unfortunately for our protagonists, not the only ones who know at least part of the mysteries that are unfolding. This preoccupies both of them for the first part of the book along with some more personal matters that come to a head when Merry and Adam once again find themselves in Akhenaten’s tomb. (Read the book and find out) The present and past interweave themselves neatly as the book ends leaving us waiting eagerly for the next one. I am worried about Merry and Adam’s ability to maintain a viable business in the current business climate in Egypt. Am I over involved or have I just bought into their world? Book Five continues this excellent series and introduces us to some rather interesting theories regarding the Pharaoh’s and the potential birth of the Jewish nation. The research as usual is right on target and believable in the context of the narrative. I still love this series and recommend it highly. Go read it, find out for yourself.

As with the previous four books it's a fascinating adventure, at times a bit Indiana Jones but the factual research is outstanding.
If you have been to Egypt, particularly Luxor you can identify with the people and the history.
Can't wait to get into book 6.

I loved this book as I did all the previous ones. I visited Egypt many years ago and never lost my love for the place and its history. I never tire of reading about it - fact or fiction. However I felt that this book ended rather abruptly. I would give this four stars.

Loving this series. Fiona is keeping me engaged in this 5th book. Read it in a weekend, wasn't able to put it down. Looking forward to number six. Will they manage to make a business of the Queen Ahmes? Will the hidden tomb become public? Will Merry get her girl's wedding? What will their next adventure be?

My favorite location is visited in the 5th book and reading I felt I was there exploring Amarna. Fiona has a way of bringing the sites alive and with the inevitable mysteries and challenges the characters face I found I could not put the book down.
