Does the job, provides a sturdy frame for 2 2.5" drives. Comes with screws and manuals. Can't ask for much more.
My only gripe is that the screw holes are of a thinner thread, which I believe is the sort used on 2.5" drives. Where as 3.5" drives use the wider (larger pitch, as it's known) thread. This isn't normally a problem, as they provide suitable screws. However my case, Antec P180, uses rubber gromets to hold the hard drives in place, and so I can't affix them properly, as they need special screws, which only come in the larger thread size. So unless I can find the same type of screws in smaller thread, I can only bodge it with random thin thread screws that mean it is loose and hangs about inside.
I don't know why they didn't use the same thread size as standard 3.5" drives, for compatibility.

Looks like a decent enough adapter but Akasa just cannot get the fixings right. The case mounting screws are too small and will not take my Coolermaster fixing locks, easily enough overcome by drilling the damn things out but why do you have to, I do wish they would think more. Operationally it works well as it should being a lump of metal; is it too much to ask to try it out with some decent cases, two stars gone!!!

Purchased two of these to hold a single SSD drive each in my Lian Li case. The adapters are simple pressed steel with the edges nicely rounded off and black coated, not much else to say about them really. However, the mounting screws (used for attaching to the computer case) are fine-thread - not the usual coarse thread used in 3-1/2" drives, as a result the special rack screws the Lian Li case uses for mounting 3-1/2" devices into it's internal rack system will not fit. Luckily the metal used for these adapters is thin enough that you can use brute force to make the rack screws fit - swaging a new thread in the process. Not an elegant solution perhaps but it's the only alternative open to you. Use a decent screwdriver with a bit that fits the screw head closely. After getting the screws to fit the adapter you might find it is now a tad too wide for the rack slots making them a very tight fit - but they will slide in with some persuasion (preferably not a 4lb lump hammer - a 16oz claw hammer is more than sufficient). Also, watch for the length of screws supplied for mounting your SSD drive into the adapter, both short and long screws are supplied and if you force the long ones in you can crack/damage the case of your SSD drive, so be sure to use the short screws.

Unfortunately it's true. Though the subject of debate among these reviews, I can confirm that they have indeed drilled the wrong size of screw thread in the outer part of this case - i.e. the holes which are supposed to be compatible with those of the 3.5 inch drive. They supply screws which fit, but if your case needs to use its own screws (long ones to go through a anti-shock mounting, for example) then you may be unable to use this product. Caution advised.

I recently purchased the Crucial CT128M4SSD2 128GB M4 SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 inch Internal SSD for my desktop tower PC and needed to fit it into one of my spare drive bays. The drive bays are designed for 3.5" HDD's so an adapter was needed.

I had a look around and this adapter seemed both affordable and perfectly suited to my needs so I got it with my new SSD.

I've had no problems with it, it came with the screws needed to attach it to the SSD and then insert it into my PC. It was all in place in a few minutes. The bay has space for a couple of SSD's if you require.

It is a simple and inexpensive way of ensuring your SSD is well secured.

The design looks simple but it performs an important function well. Before I had this adapter my 2.5" hdd was just sitting on a shelf inside my computer tower. The product comes with all of the required screws for installation and it is easy to set up. I was worried there might be some vibration sounds from the case and hard drive, because the fittings are not insulated with rubber rings, but the mounting is very quiet and holds the drive securely.

Having already purchased an SSD with its own 2.5-3.5 adapter kit and now buying my second SSD, I needed something that would allow me to put both SSD's onto one adapter. Therefore, I was able to free up an extra 3.5 bay. This was handy because one of my air-intake fans are placed where the free space is and is now unobstructed getting a greater flow into the lower area of the case (Graphics card). The drives are now tidy and organised which was also a reason for getting this adapter.

A slight gripe I might have is that the total height of the drives (once installed) are not quite enough to manage without some small problems. For example, the power cables might be a bit fiddly to insert (depending on your cables) as the drives are close together. This is not a problem with adapter though and it serves its purpose well. The issue is with the shape of some power cables. You may be limited to one 2.5 drive per adapter for this reason but having installed two SSD's on this adapter with my awkward power cables were you should be fine!

Still, a good rigid adapter at a great price!!
