That happens in the first 5 or 10 minutes so I did not give you to much to go on but alliances are formed and he is just a kid wanting to live his life in peace but will society let him?
Animation style is great...think Knights of Sidonia, Blame...along those lines. This is an adult oriented story and there is no nudity..no harem comedy and I honestly do not remember any language issues. I found this series to be excellent and perhaps even with underlying tones of acceptance for others whom are not like you.
There already is a second season to this on Netflix and all are in English or Japanese if you prefer.
+ Animation Style
+ Voice Acting
+ Complex and Interesting Story
+ Main Character Development
- Some character backstories are MIA
- Abandoned supporting cast (Kaito)
- Noticeable drop in storytelling as the series progresses
Ajin follows the story of Kei Nagai as he comes to the realization that he is a Demi-Human. To put simply this means he is basically immortal. Due to this, Ajins have become valuable test subjects due to them being able to reset or revive after being killed. So the hunt begins when word gets out that Kei Nagai is an Ajin. His friend Kaito helps him escape temporarily but Kei is eventually caught when he abandons the help of Kaito and looks for the help of Mr. Sato. Is Mr. Sato friend or foe? Well, you will have to watch the series to find out.
Originally I wasn’t a fan of the art style due to it looking like a cel-shaded game. As the series progresses I can see why they went with this direction. The Black Ghost / Dark Matter would look weird if it wasn’t done in a CGI type of way.
The score isn’t really something to write home about but, I did enjoy the dubbed voice acting. I guess we are to the point where dubbed voice action isn’t a problem anymore.
I’m actually looking forward to re-watching seasons 1 and 2 to get a better understanding of the series. I also haven’t had the chance to see the OVAs yet so I will be watching them in the near future as we wait for season 3.

So far I’m happy with the series. I'm not a huge fan of how some compelling characters were introduced and then put to the backseat or abandoned just as quickly. I really enjoying the pacing of this anime as well. If you want to watch something straight to the point, Ajin does a really good job staying on topic.
