The aircast walker is light-weight and easy to fit. I suffer from left leg foot drop which is complicated by loss of sensation below the knee. Standard splints have caused pressure sores in the past. This does not happen with this item due to the inbuilt air cushion which provides both support and protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars The boot is easy to put on and easy to take off 8 Aug. 2016

I fracturred my Left Tibula on vacation and needed to be off the ankle for 6 weeks-No surgery! I was informed by my orthopedist to purchase the long leg boot after he removed the cast splints (a hard/soft cast). I had been in a cast for 3 weeks prior and needed a boot for another 3 weeks. I'm in the Health Care Field and know quite a few things about what to look for in a boot. Comfort and support is among the most important. I viewed the other Walker Braces and found that this one with the Air Pump for both sides made the most sense. I'm required to wear the boot 24 hs/day and can only remove it during showers and sun bathing! The boot is easy to put on and easy to take off. The boot is very comfortable and I'm so happy about the purchase. I recommend the long socks that go past the actual boot. You could always fold it over the top part of the boot. In addition, a sock that is closed at the toes is also important when you go outside. I found that for sleeping, (yes, I have to sleep with it too) I could remove the front panel for better comfort at night. I placed a pillow case over the boot with a rubber band holding it in place so it kept the bed clean. I wiped the boot down with clorox wipes when I came into the house too. The price of the boot was extremely reasonable vs going thru my insurance company and AIRCAST is a reputable company. Summertime is never a good time to be in a cast/boot but this brand definitely makes it more tolerable. Good luck with the boot and Fast Healing everybody.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent. 8 Dec. 2016

I tore the tendons in my foot and ankle and it wasn't healing until I got this boot. I had it immobilized and wrapped but it really needed a boot. I felt relief as soon as I put it on. I'm 5 4 and heavy set and the boot fit me fine. I got a medium and I'm a size 10 and it was a good fit. Sometimes a 10 shoe is a tad small for me. I think if you are are an 8-10 women's size a medium is good. Some people who were 10 said their toe came over the front, you need to make sure that you let all the air out before you put the boot on because it will push your foot forward The straps adjust and the pump makes it tighter on the sides. The boot is very comfortable and lightweight. There is enough room to wrap your foot and wear the boot. It doesn't come with a sock so you might want a long sock. The boot came several inches below my knee. I just wore a regular sock, the liner was really soft. I live in Florida and it wasn't hot. Happy with the boot and glad I spent the extra money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best CAM Boot Brace on the market! 9 Dec. 2016
By T. S. - Published on Amazon.com
Size: SmallColour: Grey Verified Purchase
Lighter-weight than other types of CAM boot braces, and much more comfortable, and, IMHO, much better looking. Had to use it for over 5 months due to my 5th metatarsal fracture that took an unusually long time to heal, and it stood up to the daily wear very well. Tip - buy this, and buy the "Even-Up" for your other foot. Worth every penny together! The earlier AIRCAST version has an external tool to pump the air pockets, but I think this AIRCAST SELECT is a much better design as it incorporates the pump into the sides of the boot. The air pockets do need to be filled occasionally throughout a 8 or more hour period of wear, but its so easy to do. Hope you heal up well!

5.0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend this product... 20 Nov. 2015

I fell down a flight of stairs and fractured my right ankle (fibula). The doctor prescribed a cam boot to stabilize the leg and allow the fracture time to heal without causing further damage. I went straight to Amazon.com, and I'm so glad I did.

The Aircast AirSelect cam boot has 2 adjustable and separately controlled side air cells that let me control the level of compression in the boot for varied levels of support according to what I am doing. When putting my leg up I'll add just enough compression so that my ankle is stabilized, resting comfortably in the boot. For walking I pump up the compression so that my leg is snug, stabilized and still COMFORTABLE. The added protection I get from the front shield is a plus for me. At $88.31 I found it to be AFFORDABLE and with Prime delivery I got it in 2 days.

Having to wear a cam boot for another 6 weeks doesn't seem so bad now that I have the adjustable support and comfort of the Aircast AirSelect.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Fits! Great Performance on a 12-Week Real World Test 21 May 2016
By Lee by the Sea - Published on Amazon.com

Two days after our podiatrist sold my wife an Icelandic boot that was awkward and slow to take on and off, impossible to keep adjusted with its 10 or 12 Velcro tabs, and which was uncomfortable and at times painful, I selected this boot and bought it, along with two "hygiene covers" that precisely fit it. Our podiatrist was nice enough to refund what the bad Icelandic boot cost--which was almost twice the cost of this boot from Amazon. The AirSelect fit well and was infinitely more comfortable.

My wife proceeded to wear it for 12 weeks while her 5th metatarsal bone healed. Its hygiene cover allowed her to wear the boot inside our home, where we don't allow outdoor shoes, and this AirSelect product held up fine for 12 weeks--its two built-in mini-pumps did their job and nothing ever leaked. Its Velcro was still functional, though the inner cloth it bit into was somewhat chewed up at the end of the 12 weeks. The boot took her all over town, into offices and stores, and then onto planes and on very rough (even some cobblestone) streets for two weeks of a multicity vacation that had been bought before she broke her foot bone.

After 12 weeks the sole of the boot is worn but is not worn out. The boot did not fail her; she developed a reasonable gait quickly and appeared to be walking normally after a week or two. Her bone healed as our podiatrist had hoped for; he never said one bad word about the boot.

I hope it's never necessary, but we would certainly buy this product again.

One note: We bought a "weather cover" for the boot to handle rain, but it never fit the boot correctly. The weather cover also presented several inconveniences by its design. My wife removed it and walked through some rain (but no snow) without getting her feet wet enough to talk about.
