The A380 is an engineering marvel. Mr Simons' book provides, in my opinion, the comprehensive account of this wonderful aeroplanes development and employment currently. If you have stood near an airport and watched this aircraft take off, or even better been lucky enough to have flown on one, please buy this book and gain a full appreciation of how truly fortunate we are to have the ability to use technology like this in the era we live in.
Very interesting and well written. Good history of the development and detail about the aircraft. Describes the complete journey from initial flight planning months ahead through the flight until engine shutdown. Much more than just a book on the A380. Would recommend.
This plane flies over our garden on approach to BHX twice a day some days. It looks so beautiful and after photographing it and zooming in to see more details, I wanted to know more about it and this book was perfect.
As Iv come to expect from this author, this book was superb. I long awaited its release and snapped copy up as soon as it was available and I have enjoyed reading about the A380 and also most interesting to me, as a fan of civil aviation carriers, the airlines point of view, in service record etc.
I know I will re read it and also use it as a reference book on the A380. As I highly prise my story of Courtline - Colours of the sky by the very same author. I hope for future books, there is a gap for a book of the quality on the Boeing 787 and would like to see another title from this author, on the 787 or indeed as a history, of say, I would love, the L1011.
