A book that charts the adventures of dozens of heroes through over 1400 stories, from the beginning of time itself, right through the end of the Universe and out the other side... it's not for the faint hearted. Christ, even the contents list is twenty pages long. It's a mammoth endeavour, showing real love for Doctor Who and the works it has inspired, and any true obsessive will surely love it.

This book is truly an excellent Doctor Who factual book. I love seeing how everything fits together in the Doctor Who Universe - and if you like this too, I would highly recommend this book by Lance Parkin. In this the Second (or really Third) edition of his book, he includes the important comics, the TV series up to the 10th Doctor's 2007 season, BF audios and novels.

He's very articulate at explaining certain anomalies and also explaining why he's placed stories in a particular time. He also tries to tackle the questions of UNIT dating and other problems, and has very good answers for them.

Please do read this excellent book and enjoy being part of the massive, wonderful universe of Doctor Who....

This book tries to do the impossible - and to an extent succeeds, trying to tie together and reconcile all the different strands of Doctor Who - the TV series, the various novels issued down the years, the Big Finish audio dramas and the comic strips (mainly those published in the Doctor Who Magazine).
The big asset with this tome is that as new bits of Who lore emerge the authors aren't afraid of amending their viewpoint/theories from the previous editions of this book. And as to that bug-bear of the UNIT era dating that's kept as separate section within the series chronology - i.e. anytime between the year of broadcast (1968 to 1975) and being set from mid 70's to the mid 80's.
A worthwhile investment for anyone who's interested in the wonderful world of Who like myself who's been with the show since the 60's, and for anyone who comes to it more recent times via David Tennant and Matt Smith. Seriously recommended!

This book is an essential item for every Who fan's library. It's a very hefty book with a whole timeline of the show and the Doctor's adventures. The televised adventures are written in bold font and non televised adventures in standard font so it's very easy to choose which canon to read. A book to read cover to cover or dip into however you choose. Fantastic!!

The facts and detail in this book are incredible and compulsive! An amazing piece of work! I'm not the most obsessive fan of Dr Who, but I enjoyed spotting facts and connections I had made whilst watching the show and reading about so many more that I hadn't!
