A fast paced, exciting murder mystery, which holds the interest of the reader throughout. DS Ruth Carter and her colleague and friend, Vincent are faced with a particularly complicated series of crimes. A highly entertaining read.

I read book 1 and even though it wasn't a great read, I thought it had potential as a series so have just finished book 2. Sadly I found it to lack continuity, not only within the story but following on from book 1 and char her background just didn't gel.

Book 1 gave me vertigo with the constantly changing type dace size, I actually had to check with so done else that it wasn't my eyesight playing up. Boom 2 gave me whiplash, as I had to keep backtracking as I thought I must have missed some very valuable information with regards to the plot.

The whole thing seamed rushed and would have benefited from more research into police e procedure disjointed and lacked believability. DI Carter really doesn't play much of a part in book 2 which I found to be strange as the series is named after her.

Fans of easy reading crime fiction will enjoy this though, but for me I am giving up after book 2.

As always not disappointed with this book. It has some of the same characters as the first in series What Left Behind. Totally different story and well worth it's 5 star review. The book is very well written and the characters are very believable. The story line keeps you guessing to the end, very cleverly written. Another great read from this author, can't wait for the next.
I was gifted this book for an honest review.

One day I will read crime book with a perfectly healthy and uncomplicated main character. This is a read only for those trapped in their bed unable to sleep.
