I quite like a good dystopia and this is a really good dystopia. Cyrus Rhodes is a smuggler who is fast approaching the age where he can get into serious trouble for doing what he does. This has a fair bit to do with him taking on a job which although is well paid, he probably wouldn’t consider otherwise.
It’s fast paced, well written and hard to put down. Several times I realised I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, in my mind chanting “Come on, come on, come on...”
The ending is a bit of a cliff hanger and I have to say on this rare occasion I don’t mind because it means more story.
As a downside, I think it’s a bit much that this guy can run that far, for that long and keep up any kind of speed above a walking pace. Even with a lifetime of practice, it’s a little much to believe. And then you meet Eve, who’s even better.
There’s action plenty, surprises and plot twists you won’t see coming and as the relationship between Cyrus and Eve develop, the story takes a more desperate feeling as now there is more than just completing a job at stake.

The Agora Files is a fast-paced, unpredictable and original dystopian story. Full of action, adrenaline, excitement and adventure but with a strong, appealing human element which comes through in family dynamics and unexpected relationships. This human element is what takes the book into the next level - don’t miss this story!

Quite an exciting read - but the idea of Cyrus running up to 90 miles a day stretches the imagination a bit.
Also the Geek is sometimes a bit too clever for a 12-14 year old.
The ending is a bit abrupt - presumably to allow for a follow-up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting dystopian dash across the country 5 Sept. 2014
By CKB - Published on Amazon.com

The Agora Files is a fast-paced race across the nation with more twists and turns than a winding country road. The story is both nail-biting and inspirational, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone who likes dystopian fiction, thrillers, action/adventure, young adult fiction, etc....

For me the story really got started when Eve was introduced to the mix. Not that the initial opening scenes weren't solid, but she breathes some additional life into the story, and Cyrus.

I sorta want to say that the end is a cliff-hanger, or perhaps incomplete. But I wouldn't take that as a knock on the book. There is plenty of action obviously to come in the next book, but this one closes out reasonably well. Overall, I was satisfied with where it ended.

5.0 out of 5 stars page turner to the end! 16 May 2014

This book was a wonderful read! It was full of suspense and action. The story line was one that would interest many different readers, old and young, men and women. There is action, evil government, romance, and comedy all wrapped into a well written book! You will not be sorry that you read this book, but you will be sorry when it ends!!! I can not wait for the sequel.

There is no "down time" where you get bored wondering what's next. It's actually fast reading as you want to keep up with the pace of the characters.
Love the larger print size which makes it more relaxing to read.

2.0 out of 5 stars No ending really. Just an uncertain cliff-hanger... 31 Aug. 2014
By Christopher Williams - Published on Amazon.com

This story held some promise to explain why these kids were risking all for an impossible run across the nation to save the U.S. from their own government. I finished this book reluctantly; ever hoping and expecting some closure or higher meaning. Unfortunately it failed to deliver.
