It’s fast paced, well written and hard to put down. Several times I realised I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, in my mind chanting “Come on, come on, come on...”
The ending is a bit of a cliff hanger and I have to say on this rare occasion I don’t mind because it means more story.
As a downside, I think it’s a bit much that this guy can run that far, for that long and keep up any kind of speed above a walking pace. Even with a lifetime of practice, it’s a little much to believe. And then you meet Eve, who’s even better.
There’s action plenty, surprises and plot twists you won’t see coming and as the relationship between Cyrus and Eve develop, the story takes a more desperate feeling as now there is more than just completing a job at stake.
Also the Geek is sometimes a bit too clever for a 12-14 year old.
The ending is a bit abrupt - presumably to allow for a follow-up.

For me the story really got started when Eve was introduced to the mix. Not that the initial opening scenes weren't solid, but she breathes some additional life into the story, and Cyrus.
I sorta want to say that the end is a cliff-hanger, or perhaps incomplete. But I wouldn't take that as a knock on the book. There is plenty of action obviously to come in the next book, but this one closes out reasonably well. Overall, I was satisfied with where it ended.
Love the larger print size which makes it more relaxing to read.
