Richard Crofton's Agents of Shadow is the first book in The Keepers of White trilogy. It is not for the faint of heart, focusing around the dark and cruel ambitions of the Agents of Shadows. We see just how far power corrupts, and the lengths people will go to taste it. An immersive read that makes the reader question who can be trusted, and who, if indeed anyone, will step forth to quell the evil before it claims its next victim. Gripping and dark, with a hook that ensures you'll grab the next book. I look forward to reading more of this series, and soon.

Although this is only Richard’s first book he is clearly a gifted story teller as he takes the reader on a journey through the dark side of mankind. I felt my emotions being played like a musical instrument with the mention of the last bus of the night being missed. The fear of being stranded in the night is one of my personal insecurities. I found myself riveted to the story wanting to know what was next.
After reading the book I have pondered on how many times I and others trust someone based on their job title.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. This book was so well written and polished I place Richard in my favorite author category. I enjoy reading books by new authors as they often offer something new and fresh not like so many stories you have read before. This is one of those books!
If you are into reading stories about the occult; the forces good vs. the forces of evil- then this is a story for you. Though I'm not generally into the genre I'm a lover of horror and found myself connected and genuinely afraid for some of the characters (a puppy included). Crofton's personal note after the conclusion of the story confirmed widely-experienced unsettled feelings amongst other readers about the events that take place and that indeed good will appear in the next installment. I eagerly await to read this.
The book, though pretty lengthy, is a quick read and is indeed a page turner. I'd definitely recommend this one for its ability to entertain and keep me on edge.
