This book is the last in the Ellery series and what a way to end. Michael is all grown up now, I have followed his journey through the series from his horrid attack right through to now. Great read. I don't want Ellery to end.

I was expecting a bit more from this book as I'd read the others and they were great but this one just didn't grab me,to me it just lacked the sizzle that I'd read from other books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A marvelous tale of M/M love ! 9 Feb. 2017

Marvelous tale of love ! Six years ago Michael Harden was "Mikey" in the previous book. He was targeted and gay bashed where he nearly died. Now he's come home because he needs peace and safety. He was attacked again and feels unbalanced. Michael needs his town of Ellery.
Alexis following Michael's every move, because he wants him safe, but he's going about it the wrong way. As his agent, 30ish Alex thinks he can just muscle his way back into Michael's life.
We get to see the previous cast members and their updates, now six years later. We see Michael sort out his memories, until they reveal something crucial. Alex and Michael are busy avoiding each other, so how can they resolve anything? When they talk and figure out what is really between them, and they finally come clean. And yes, we get the sexy times we like so much !
This is the final book in the series of magnificent short stories, and most loose ends are tied. Everything we want in romance is in this set. I have completely devoured each book of this wonderful town's and the people's journeys.
I highly recommend them all.
ENJOY !

3.0 out of 5 stars Two beautiful men with a barrier between them 15 April 2014
By B ME - Published on Amazon.com

Michael comes home to Ellery to face his past, only his present keeps intruding in the form of his agent Alex Casey, who won’t take no for an answer.
In this installment of Ellery Mountain we meet a character we have encountered before, just more grown up and successful. Mikey is a young man who lived with his Nan when we met him before, we knew he had been attacked, beaten, stabbed and doused in petrol (gas) and left for dead (although not set alight). Now we meet him again as a very successful male model who has again been the recipient of violence that has brought up the earlier attack. He is off kilter and running - but he can't run far enough to get away from his agent Alex.
Alex loves Michael, he is heartbroken that by trying to protect Michael he put him in harms way. He lied by failing to tell Michael of the threat he is seen as betraying Michael's trust and has lost their budding relationship and their professional contract.
How can Alex fix this when Michael has told him to keep away and they are done?
Meanwhile Michael is having some flashbacks and memories about the attack. It was always assumed someone passing through attacked him in this close-knit community but he remember something that leads to a local.
This is a nice wee read, nothing earth shattering and not my favourite in the series. Michael is a bit annoying because he can't see that although Alex made a mistake, and admits it,they still love each other and there was no ill intent. Good book for a weekend.
5.0 out of 5 stars ... in very unexpected scenarios that can actually create a pretty good life 25 July 2015

What starts out as three friends weekly get-togethers we discover how lives can intertwine over time in very unexpected scenarios that can actually create a pretty good life, community, and family. Each book in this series centers on a different couple and because of that, strictly speaking each story is a standalone but in my opinion you really should read this one in order because one half of the couple had either a cameo or was mentioned in passing in the previous book. Also, each of the previous couples have at least a partial scene in the following installments. For these reasons I'm doing an overall review as opposed to each book having their own write up. Ellery Mountain has loads of drama, interesting and intriguing characters both main and secondary, hints of mystery, and of course plenty of romance, not to mention what would an RJ Scott story be without some well placed hotness. So come along with the Ellery Mountain Fridays and see what life has in store for them.
3.0 out of 5 stars Too short 12 May 2014
By JustMe - Published on Amazon.com

I have read and enjoyed the first book in this series, but unfortunately I did not like this one just as much. I sort of wondered if the author has run out of ideas.
Michael emerges as a cranky teenager. He appears very self-centred and the reason for why he avoids Alex is quite stupid, at least in my mind and would really fit better to a child than some one who expects to be treated as an adult. He should have been able to see that what Alex did was meant as a thoughtfulness from Alex. Not the best decision from Alex, but still it was meant well.
The reader will certainly feel sorry for Michael when we are told his story, as I did, but why had he cut off his childhood’s best friend so totally that he did not even know that Zach had committed suicide? It does not make a very good impression either.
3.0 out of 5 stars More Ellery mountain 24 Dec. 2014

Not as strong a story , nor as convincing characters as the other Ellery Mountain books, but still; nice guys finding each other and HEA in the works. I just really like this author's style.
