This is the one where Agatha moves to Planet Weird.

James is engaged to a slip of a thing (I think she's blonde) called Felicity. There is a good looking Frenchman kicking around - Sylvan Dubois who Agatha fancies. Then there is Bob Jenkinson the weird neighbour. Agatha gives up detective work. Agatha goes back to detective work. Nearly gets drowned twice and is feeling her age.

Must be one of the most bonkers ones in the series.

Bought this book at around mid-day today and had finished it by around 4pm.
Alright I did not read the first few pages, which are the same in every book.

This was a good read, but a lot lighter than most of the others. I got the feeling that it was written as quickly as I read it. Not to say it was any less of a typical Agatha Raisin book.

Having read them all in order, I must say that I have enjoyed them all so far. I know that some folk have not enjoyed them all, but I have.

They are easy reading. A break from the hard-boiled books that I normally read.

They do what they say on the tin!!!! No fault in that is there. You buy an Agatha Raisin book and you know that you are in for some good old fashioned fun.

Do not know what I am going to do when I have read them all. Sadly, the other series do not appeal for some reason.

Just love these books. Been gradually working my way through this saga for the past few months. Don't know what I'm going to do once I've read them all. Full of humour, suspense and wonderfully written.

Getting near the end of the series and found this book as light, funny and enjoyable as all the others. With the beauty of the kindle I could read a series of over 20 books all in the right order exactly when required - brilliant!

Just love the M C Beaton Agatha Raisin books. Fantastic read - don't want to put the back down until I've read it from start to finish. No hesitation in recommending ALL her books to family and friends.

I love reading all about Agatha Rasin, and the scrapes she gets herself into, and her choice of men, she hasn't had much look there, the story is sad and so funny, and at times you wonder if she'll be OK, fantastic story, whoever reads it will love it

This book is light and easy, though not well written at all. Still, it dashes along at a merry pace and I was far from wanting anything remotely intellectual, so it fitted the bill adequately enough. The plot lines are bizarre and there's a heck of a lot of them even in one slim novel, there's a lot of telling and very little showing, but I do have to say I liked Agatha, the mid-50s no-holds-barred detective who's definitely a Game Bird in the best British crime tradition.

I have read all of the previous Agatha Raisin books and the quality does not waiver - I thoroughly enjoyed Agatha's next adventure and can't wait to start the next book.
I enjoy the style of writing which varies between being detailed but skipping tedium.
I would recommend this to any reader who enjoys a light romp through the life of an ordinary woman that is that all women are complex, being both independent but longing to be dependant on their soulmate!! Life with Agatha is never ordinary and this makes an enjoyable read.
