Review

"'I loved this book and read it in 2 goes because I could not put it down' (Emma Weir, aged 7) 'This book had funny illustrations and brilliant describing words. I enjoyed this book because it was funny' (Emily Lucock, aged 7) 'I would like to tell you about a book I have read. It is called Agatha Parrot and the Floating Head and is written by Kjartan Poskitt and is very funny... I read it in two days.. It is a real pageturner. I am 9 and I would recommend it for 7 or 8 year olds upwards' (Martha Eleni Pack, meandmybigmouth.)"

About the Author

Kjartan Poskitt When Kjartan was young he used to play pianos, present tv science shows and invent puzzles. After that he wrote the Murderous Maths books along with lots of other books about magic, space and pants. Then when he got old, a girl called Agatha Parrot asked him to help write down stories about her life. Agatha says: 'So far I've written out most of the words in my spelling book. I've also filled about 12 numeracy books, 9 literacy books and once did a project about how the sun makes plants grow which Miss Barking gave me a gold star for. This book took me AGES though! Well I didn't exactly write it, I just talked and the old man typed it out, but it took almost the whole afternoon. It would have been quicker if he hadn't kept stopping to check if he'd got any emails, but he never had. (What a loser!)' David Tazzyman David Tazzyman is now one of the most popular illustrators in children’s books. He is perhaps most famous for his work on the Agatha Parrot and Mr Gum series, for which he has won awards such as The Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award. David lives in South London with his girlfriend, Melanie, and their son, Stanley. He grew up in Leicester, studied illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University and then travelled around Asia for three years before moving to London in 1997. He likes football, cricket, biscuits, music and drawing. He still dislikes celery.

my son got this download as a reward for a good school report. He says it's absolutely brilliant and he's seven, so there you go. The kindle download service is brilliantly efficient and good customer service too.

I bought Mr Poskitts latest book for my nine year old, who claims to be his hugest fan! She read this book within a day, and it was another day of fits of giggles and outright belly laughs. She has loved these books so much that her little brother picked up the first, and is now over half way through, with equal amounts of gesticulation and guffaws. It's not often I find a series of books that my children are so equally excited about. Clever Mr Poskitt!! I'm off to buy Agatha Parrots latest installments and reserve the next.

Bought this for my 7 year old daughters' kindles and they read it over 2 days. They would stop reading it to laugh and tell us about a particular funny bit. Good to see them enjoying reading.

I would recommend it to other children of a similar age and of average reading skills. My daughter has now read the whole series of Agatha Parrot books and thoroughly enjoyed it!
