Synopsis

This book presents new, first hand accounts from individuals who have experienced visitations from the dead. "Afterlife Encounters" is the culmination of the Afterlife Encounters Survey, Arcangel's five-year, international survival study. Arcangel presents all new, first-hand accounts from individuals who've experienced visitations from the dead. "Afterlife Encounters" reveals the results of that study and, for the first time, offers a systematic categorisation of such encounters, explaining when these encounters are most likely to occur and what type of apparition is likely to appear. Arcangel's eye-opening conclusion is that afterlife encounters provide lasting comfort to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stupid and annoying 28 April 2017
By K. C. Burroughs - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book contains numerous first-person accounts, but they seem as if they were all rewritten by the author in the same bubbly, perky style. Too much space is given to answering imaginary skeptics or quoting people as saying things like, "You'll think I'm crazy, but..." It is so incredibly annoying to read that I doubt I will finish it. There is one funny account that I enjoyed, but I had already read it quoted in another book. In it, a guy asks his deceased friend (who is attending an after-life school and asks if there's anything he wants to know) if he'll ever win the Lotto, and he feels like he's "put on hold" for a minute, then the dead friend returns and says, "No." Why not? "Karma."

5.0 out of 5 stars After Life Affirming! 29 Sept. 2005
By D. Dube - Published on Amazon.com

Dianne Arcangel never ceases to amaze me by her thorough and penetrating investigations into the intangible. I have read her books, seen her on Operah and other shows and find she is the best in objective reporting on psychic phenomenon. Afterlife Encounters continues that tradition while ordinary people explain extraordinary experiences with the other side. It touched me deeply and I was even tickled by Dianne's own skepticism being challenged by noted Discerner George Anderson!

I highly recommend this book as one of the definitive tomes on the subject matter! Really heart warming and uplifting, especially now when we all need it most!

5.0 out of 5 stars Afterlife Encounters 8 Jan. 2014

I really enjoy studying the Afterlife. My husband passed away five years ago today, and these studies helped me with my grief. The studies also help you to prepare for your own passing. I recommend purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comforting and Challenging 28 Oct. 2005
By Michael Way - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Perhaps the best evidence of after death communication is that ordinary people have been experiencing them since the beginning of recorded history. In this book, Dianne Arcangel reveals the results of her five-year international survival study by using real stories from real people as she catagorizes the data. Both the stories and the data are rather amazing. If that was all the book was about, it would be well worth reading, but it isn't. Also fascinating to read about is her participation in the Afterlife Watching experiments involving mediumship research. Another captivating section of the book is her private discernment(reading) with well known medium George Anderson.

Even if you are a sceptic, read this book. It may or may not change your opinion, but you will be better informed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable stories 18 Jan. 2008
By Paladin - Published on Amazon.com

This gal goes to great lengths to research everything and give you all the details so there tends to be very little 'hearsay' and a lot of first person information. All skeptics should read this. There is absolutely no religious agenda here, it is simply research into some very strange experiences people have had. Read it all, because she gives more information about herself as time goes on and her skepticism of 'fortune tellers', etc. was most welcome and refreshing.
