Review

Enjoyable, original and intriguing (B A Paris, bestselling author of Behind Closed Doors)

The story was authentic, absorbing and unputdownable. I fell in love with Jess and although I raced through the pages I didn't want the story to finish. And it really was the perfect ending . . . (Louise Jensen, bestselling author of The Sister)

Stunning, such a unique premise and really well executed. I got papercuts trying to turn the pages faster! (Jenny Blackhurst, bestselling author of How I Lost You)

A tale of love, loss and sacrifice with the cleverest twist. Poignant and intriguing, unusual and lovely. I genuinely didn't want to put it down (Milly Johnson, Sunday Times bestselling author)

Made me laugh, cry, bite my nails and all against a genius modern premise. A total stand-out read (Jo Spain, bestselling author of With Our Blessing)

I wanted to compare the author to Gillian Flynn or Alice Sebold . . . Linda Green is bloody brilliant! (Amanda Prowse, #1 bestselling author)

Clever and compelling . . . this is brave story, which is touching right down to the final word. I so enjoyed this book (Dorothy Koomson on While My Eyes Were Closed)

The suspense becomes quite unbearable - and there's a final flourish in the form of a very punchy twist. A terrifyingly plausible story (Sunday Mirror on While My Eyes Were Closed)

A powerful and provocative read that will get under your skin (Sun on While My Eyes Were Closed)

Nail-biting, creepy and so sad (Isabelle Grey on While My Eyes Were Closed)

An ambitious premise, brilliantly executed (The Lady on While My Eyes Were Closed)

The long-awaited next book from the author of While My Eyes Were Closed...draws the reader in, blurs the lines, tugs at every heartstring and racks up the tension while taking us to the heart of some flawed but superbly strong female characters. Once you start After I've Gone, you'll have to finish - and you'll not want to check your phone until you have! (My Weekly)

Facebook plays a very big part in most people's lives nowadays and many people post updates about almost everything! So what would you do if you logged in one day and read posts that you couldn't possibly be seeing?

Jess Mount is young, free and single and enjoying life with her best friend Sadie and her widowed dad Joe. A chance encounter leads her to meet Lee who will play such an important part in her future. A future Jess doesn't know about yet. Or does she?

When she starts to read posts on her Facebook timeline from family and friends dated 18 months on and realises that they are all relating to her death, Jess doesn't know what to think. Is it a prank or is it real? And how can it possibly be real? What she does know is that no one can see the posts but herself. Is she losing it again like she did when she lost her mum? But when certain events start to add up and she realises who will lead to her ultimate demise Jess tries to change her future. But there is one obstacle in her way - Her adorable baby son who is yet to be conceived. How can she change her future if it means he won't exist?

I loved Jess's character and I loved her best friend Sadie. We all need someone like that in our lives. I really felt for Jess and as a mother myself I can understand the overwhelming love you have for your child even if it means that you have to sacrifice yourself. We've probably all wondered what it would be like if we could change the past but would you do it if it meant your child would cease to exist?

This is the second novel I've read by Linda Green and it sure didn't disappoint. If I loved 'While my eyes were closed' I was blown away by 'After I've Gone'. I couldn't put it down and even while my eyes were drooping at 3am I still had to carry on reading!

If you're looking for your next book to read then I would highly recommend this. I can't wait to read the next novel by Linda.

I was sent an early copy of this book by Netgalley in return for an honest opinion.

I had spotted that this book was coming out about 6 months a go and put it on my book clubs hit list as it sounded so good.

The premise is that Jess Mount is newly out of college and working in a cinema with her best friend. Jess doesn't have much direction in life but is happy for it to be relaxed and fun without any expectations. She lives with her dad and is each others everything after losing Jess's mum to cancer 7 years earlier.

Jess bumps into a handsome and charming stranger right around the time she wakes to find her Facebook wall covered in obituaries from her apparent death, only they are dated 18months in the future, is she going mad, is someone playing a sick joke, trying to warn her or is it a helping hand from beyond the grave?

If you could see your future, would you choose to follow it for better or worse or would you change your fate even if it meant losing those you hadn't yet found?

I enjoyed this book immensely, I felt I connected with Jess and empathised with her on so many levels. The storytelling is rich and and times very emotional. If you are a fan of fast paced well characterised thrillers then give this one a go. I was slightly disappointed by the end but not by the actual ending of the book. I won't say no more for fear of spoiling the story.

Enjoy, a solid 4.5 from me.

Fabulous book, very different. Really couldn't put it down. Sometimes things are just too good to be true. Definitely a must read. Money from the royalties is going to some charities I'll not tell you which ones in case it spoils it. Great how the author put real life happenings in the story.

The book documents the change when a carefree girl who likes wearing leggings and Doc Martin's meets the most perfect man on earth....she thinks. But her future is revealed in Face Book posts a year hence. How can she save her own life and that of someone she hasn't yet met? Linda Green triumphs again.

Absolutely fantastic read. !!!! This is a story that is so different that you can't wait to get to the end but you don't really want it to end. I couldn't put it down and nothing else got done whilst I was reading it. Absolutely brilliant. !!! Do try it....you'll love it.

Amazing book and story. I read this in one day. I could not put it down. It was written so well, that it drew me in from page one, to the very end. I was certainly not disappointed, the ending was not what I had thought it would be. I would recommend this book, if you want to be kept on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Linda Green is a wonderful storyteller. I am never disappointed reading any of her books.

Rapidly turning into my favourite author of all time! This book like her others is not predictable in any way with great character details that weave you into their lives as though you know them personally.

I really enjoyed After I've gone but found it difficult to understand why Jess put herself in danger when she New what was going to happen.
