If you are new to the craft, learn how to bead crochet using larger beads, cord and a larger hook first. I've taught bead crochet at the bead store in my area. My students learn the process using a cotton cord and pony beads. Once they are comfortable with the technique, we spend the rest of the class time getting used to the smaller 6/0 beads strung on S-Lon cord. I recommend making several bracelets from 6/0 seed beads before attempting the even smaller 8/0 or 11/0 beads strung on thread.
There are several "design" patterns to each necklace. The necklace could be made with a single design or all of the designs. It's up to you. Bracelets can be made from the designs as well. Throw in the endless variety of bead colors and this book could keep you busy for a long time!
