An amazing autobiography which I read years ago and had to buy the book as it remains one of my favourites. Mirella's parents (father was from southern Italy and mother from France) met and married and ventured to Africa ending up in Kenya. It is her life story which is beautiful in every way. No longer possible to relieve such a life because Kenya is not the place it used to be!

I found the family exceptionally interesting. The author - a product of her upbringing - pretty selfish and self serving. I live in Kenya several months each year and read much about it. This book gave very good insight into the culture and also the evolution of the nation. I enjoyed it, and would recommend it for the reasons stated.
