Best friends Derek and Clif set out to travel to the ends of the earth, see the world, and live life to the fullest. But the trip soon takes a dark and bloody turn when Derek starts to show signs of a mysterious affliction. Now, thousands of miles from home, they must race to uncover the source before it consumes him completely. Footage that was intended to be travel memories may now become evidence of one of the most shocking discoveries ever captured on film…and will perhaps be their only postcard home.

This is a rather low-budget film, but it's nonetheless fun to watch. If you're a fan of contemporary vampire movies then I recommend it. While I'm not particularly keen on 'lost footage' films, this one is reasonably okay. The depiction of the vampire condition - and what it involves - is well done and thoughtful.
Overall, an entertaining modern horror - at a very reasonable price.
He sets out for a cure and decides to film this sequence of events which didn't make much sense to be honest. Anyway cue the standard confusing shaky footage. It's ok. I did get bored by the hour mark but it's not so bad that I felt like giving up. If you do see this film carry on watching the credits as there's a small additional bit which compliments the story line part way through.
Acting great, plot great, ending somewhat enjoyable.
Seems to have left openings for both a prequel in looking at Audrey and the origin of the condition and then a sequel based on the post credits footage.
Just days in, Derek shows signs of a mysterious illness which gradually takes over his entire body. Now, miles from home, they must uncover the source before it consumes him completely.
Footage meant to be memories may now becomes evidence......
Yes, it's another found footage movie, and now, the films are so common place in the movie world, that they must be a genre, and not put into a separate genre. Here we have one of the above average FF movies, but, you will feel like you've seen it all before.
The first thing you will think of at the beginning of the second act is 'Chronicle', a great movie in itself, but the makers have really borrowed from this movie, and the second act consists of Derek finding more and more different powers and using them to differing effect.
The rest of the movie is very interesting though. The first act and the farewell party reminds one of Cloverfield, everyone is happy and content before the inevitable high concept in the plot happen, and the final act turns the movie into more of a detective movie, with Derek trying to find the person who did this to him.
But all in all, its a very well made piece of work, some of the stunts are absolute genius, and the two leads are hugely likable.
I'd love to see more work from the makers of this, in front of and behind of the camera, but I'd love a more original idea next time.

Strong found footage film with likable main characters. The effects of the infection are slowly revealed. It is bloody but restrained in what it shows.Published 12 months ago by Arc
