Having read this and its companion book Huckleberry Finn several times over the last 50 or so and obviously enjoyed them I was pleased to find them on kindle and better still as freebies. Whilst some of the text is not strictly PC these days (even I am told to the extent of it being banned in some states of the USA) it should betaken as a fairly factul account of life along the Misissippi in the mid 1800's. It is humerous, entertaining and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to readers from 8 to 80.

Ok but includes some difficult vocabulary. Because it was written ages ago there are somethings hard to understand. overall I'd say it was good💖💜😀

When I first read it as a young boy I didn't know anything about the American South. Now I have a better understanding of the setting
