Testing out the time machine should be the pinnacle of Herman's career, but a last minute glitch causes Hannah to literally `pull the plug'. A real downer, but the duo are back on track with their new lab assistant Rusty McNutt. Who turns out to be the scientists' nemesis.
When Rusty engineers Herman's trip to ancient Pompeii, instead of a visit to Roberto Rodriguez', builder of the "ScienceLand Expo" (who had died before Herman was born), then wipes the lab computer's memory, the race is on to get Herman back home in one piece. And it's up for grabs whether or not Hannah will let Rusty remain in one piece, no matter what happens.
"The Troubling Case of Rusty McNutt", the first installment of The Adventures of Herman Somnambula, PhD , is a romp through the world of labs, science fairs and history. The bonus is a splash of Bible, lending wisdom to our constant battle with fear, anger and a tendency to seek revenge.
When I started the book it pretty much was living up to my expectations - except for a few editing problems. But as I went along I was more and more disappointed.
I really wanted to like it - it's got a great core!
However, it felt a lot like I was reading a really good rough draft of the book. There were some misspelled words and there were random phrases in lime green print. I don't know if I'm the only one who got that, but it really looked like it was halfway through editing.
It's a great story, and I'd love to read more about Herman Somnambula Phd! But I'd like to know for sure that I was getting a polished book.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
