About the Author
Ngaire Elder, author of The Adventures of Cecilia Spark novels, is a natural storyteller whose love of animals is reflected in her work. Ngaire was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, where she spent most of her childhood playing with her brother and her imaginary friends. As a child, she wrote plays, just for fun, but it would be years before her first book was ultimately published. After college and university, Ngaire embarked on a career in the health and safety sector. As a Health and Safety Advisor, she was instrumental in implementing health and safety laws in the workplace. After meeting her husband, she chose a new occupation, and became a full-time wife and mother. In the past decade, Ngaire has managed to balance a writing career and family commitments. She has participated in reading events at primary schools in County Derry, Northern Ireland, Seeley Primary School, Sherwood, and celebrated World Book Day 2014 with the pupils at St Anthony’s College, Spain. Ngaire has taught English to young children participating in the Spanish school system’s extracurricular activity programme. She has been interviewed extensively by European and American bloggers, and her work has been featured in Indie Author News, British Indie Fiction, Inkspokes, the Coleraine Times, and The Nottingham Post. Ngaire is a passionate supporter of horse rescue, having volunteered in a rescue center in southern Spain. She is actively involved in fund raisers supporting not only local rescue centers, but also for international programs, such as saving the wild mustangs in the Pryor Mountain range in Montana. Ngaire resides in Spain with her husband and four children.

The Mystical Mountains of Terra is the second book in The Adventures of Cecilia Spark and is a highly developed, and easy to read story that captures and holds your attention. All the young at heart who comes across this talented author will enjoy reading these stories over and over to the children who crosses their paths.
Indeed this is one reader who is eagerly anticipating the third book!
Senorita Favorita needs Cecilia's help to reverse a spell cast by the evil sorcerer, Magus, upon Orson, changing the boy into a mouse, who was given the name Soldier. Senorita Favorita needs the Scepter of Malvado, which is being guarded by the Keeper in the mystical mountains of Terra. However, time is of the essence, since the quest must be completed before the total eclipse of the sun in two days' time.
Cecilia faces new challenges as the ten-year-old arrives at the Sandscape Coast with Soldier, her guide to the Kingdom of Malvado. They come upon Ractus the Armadillo who once knew Orson. The hearty trio must survive the Mangrove Swamp, defeat Pyrbrok and escape the beast's lair before reaching the mystical mountains where they encounter the Keeper, hoping to retrieve the scepter.
Does Cecilia complete her quest in time? Does Orson become a boy once again? No spoilers here.
Children of all ages will enjoy this story, which has all the elements necessary for a wonderful adventure. The author delves into the mindset of a child, sharing with the reader every emotion experienced on such a quest. Excitement, anxiety, perseverance to never give up - this story has it all. I look forward to reading more stories by this author.
Again this book has the fabulous illustrations by Pete Maddock and the inventive and amazing imagination of the author 'Ngaire Elder.'
Any child who enjoys reading will adore this book any parent will enjoy reading it.
Let's hope there are more to come!
free him from this awful doom.
Break the spell,
make him well.
This adorable story is full of fun, intrigue and adventure. Even though it is written with children in mind, it is still a smart clever story. There are lessons about perseverance, commitment and loyalty throughout these pages.
I really fell in love with Cecilia's charm.
This is a delightful fable that I wish was around while I was growing up. I could really appreciate the strong female main character, though she could have just as easily been a boy and I would have related to the story just as well. The plot along with the ongoing discovery was so much fun.
The writing is easy to follow along with the realistic dialog and fabulous illustration which made the story quite visual with one colorful scene after another. This series shouldn't be overlooked. It makes for a great read with a lot of heart!
Inspiring landscapes, fantastic creatures and nail-biting challenges and scrapes - not to mention the fun illustrations. What more could you ask for in a story for young children?
Well, I'm not a child - but I'm still looking forward to book 3!
This second book of Cecilia Spark's adventures is every bit as good as the first, and will want your child nagging for more. Adorable innocent fun, with a fine raft of lovable characters and creatures who have numerous magical adventures, where Cecilia helps the good guys and defeats the bad ones.
I’m not sure if there’s a third Cecilia Sparkes book published, but if there is I shall get it.
