Product description

From the Author

This book is primarily written for people who work with EFT or at least compatible meridian/energy therapies. If you have little or no experience with these therapies, please go now and get your education in their theories and professional usage; it won't take long, isn't very expensive and will prove to be the best gift you will have ever given to yourself, your friends and loved ones, and your clients.

Many of the patterns in this book simply cannot be approached without these therapies to any degree of safety and you should not attempt to recreate some of these patterns, and especially not the Guiding Star set or the Redemption Set but also Crime Line, Shadow Emotions and Loss of Life if you have no knowledge of the application of EFT.

The reason for the above Safety Note is that only the meridian/energy therapies can do something reliably which is an absolute turning point in my opinion for the entire human race - namely, put us in a position where we no longer have to be afraid of our emotions.
The fear of fear, pain, love, loneliness, desolation, terror and agony runs a very great many, if not all, of our strange human strategies that cause so much inter- and intra-personal conflict. The new meridian/energy therapies and most of all, their Ambassador EFT release us from this bondage and set us free in a way that is so profound, so "above and beyond", that even many practitioners in the field haven't quite got their heads around it yet.

I would like to explicitly state that this is not a self help manual although of course you will find many techniques and approaches that you can use for yourself as well as with your clients.

"Advanced Patterns of EFT" is a manual for practitioners, i.e. people who are using EFT with a variety of presenting problems and a variety of presenting people in a professional setting.

When I wrote "Adventures" (and if you have not read "Adventures In EFT" yet, I would strongly recommend that you do, for the underlying principles of the craft are in that book and are not repeated here, as well as all the learnings from Adventures being absolutely pre-supposed) I focussed on making sure that the basics of EFT were kept intact and complete in all ways.

I did this because it was then and still is now my belief that a full grounding in the Classic EFT routine as it stands and applying it exactly as it comes is one of the best teaching systems to learn about the connections between neurology, physiology, and the connector plane energy systems and beyond which has been invented to date.

I still hold that a decent apprenticeship served with EFT is probably the best step stone you can give yourself for you future explorations and discoveries of your own.

I presume that you have served this apprenticeship and are now in your Journeyman stage, ready for more advanced work and more complex applications and variations on the treatment's presuppositions, treatment procedures and routines.
This book is a collection of such patterns and techniques.
None of these patterns are designed in any way to replace the Classic EFT technique. These are fine tuning mechanisms, special tools for special circumstances and best considered to be add-ons to the mainstay of the Classic EFT protocol usage such as The Story Protocol, The Keyword Protocol and other basic techniques which can be found in detail in "Adventures In EFT" - the predecessor of this book.

The fascinating aspect about the patterns and techniques in this collection is that they have something in common - namely that in the very application of EFT in these ways, we learn something very important not just about how our neurologies and energy bodies work, but also what else can be done to improve the way we think, we treat ourselves and how we do therapy with others.

EFT is a fantastic tool. It is so incredibly flexible, it can be applied in the most astonishing ways to clear trauma, soothe stressed out energy systems and to ¡¡±open the doors of perception¡¨ when the confusion recedes and clarity is restored.

I personally hold the Classic EFT Protocol in the highest esteem possible and these articles, protocols and therapeutic patterns are designed to use the fantastic tool that is Emotional Freedom Techniques on a whole new level of elegance and mastery.
I trust you will find something in these pages that will be useful to you and your clients and I offer these patterns and my sincere best wishes to you,

Silvia Hartmann

The EFT Treatment Flow

Before we go into the advanced patterns, I would like to begin with the general EFT treatment flow which occurs in every session and even holds for self treatments.
Every aspect of this progression contributes to the overall success of using EFT to its best abilities and therefore, each one must be given due care and consideration.

EFT Session Progression
1. Introduction Phase
Create Rapport (aligning the energy systems of therapist and client so the therapist may know what is going on with the client; in self help, this would be getting into rapport with oneself as one sits down quietly and begins to consider the problem).
Take Details (in therapy/counselling etc. this would be the intake forms and technical details; in self help this would be to consider the details and circumstances of the problem).
Enquire Problem/s (find out what the problem is about, what its components are and what other factors might be relevant).
Contract/Agreement (what are we working on, how do we know when we have achieved what outcome, how do we test it and how do we know we are done - the goal of the treatment, if you will).

2. Contacting The Problem
Formulating Opening Statements (this is simply the act of talking about the problem in order to discover the most direct and effective Opening Statements or set ups for the treatment phase).

3. The Treatment Phase
Conducting EFT Treatments (now, we tap on the Opening Statements we have decided upon in phase two and the session unfolds as we clear opening statements and the client responds).
Aspects (in the treatment phase, we discover aspects of the problem, unexpected linkages to other problem groups, make discoveries about the nature of the problem and so forth).
First Tests (bearing in mind the original goal of the treatment, which may or may not have changed during the treatment so far if more important problems or aspects were uncovered, we will at some point begin the first testing procedures to check if the problem has been significantly reduced or entirely resolved. These first tests will lead either to more treatments as more aspects are uncovered, or to the closure phase of the treatment.)

4. Closure Phase
Testing (this would be the final test on the problem. Although in EFT treatments it is often presumed that "one session will cure all", this final test might reveal that more work needs to be done or that we are dealing with a large interlinked problem group that needs more time and treatments to be fully resolved. Also, some problems are such that only "time will tell" as to whether they really have been entirely resolved and the client has to go back to their normal environments and situations to know if the treatment has really worked).
Contract/Agreement Revisited (All kinds of things can happen in an EFT session which are absolutely unpredictable. Here, we need to sum up what has happened and how, why or if we have diverged from our original goal for the treatment session. This is essential to retain an overview of what is going on, and just as important for self treatments as it is for client/therapist situations to remain clear on where we are and what we need to do next.
Homework Assignments/Support (Here, we make sure that everyone knows what, if anything, needs to be done after the treatment session to foster and maintain the changes, to stabilise the gains and to make sure that what was healed during the session stays healed. In therapy, one would discuss the feedback arrangements, such as telephone check-backs, another session, what the client is to do when they are at home, and so forth. For self help, it is also useful to make sure one is clear in one’s own mind as to what should happen next).
