I have to admit, the IT GIRL series is one of those guilty pleasures that I have. I can't help myself when I know another release is forthcoming. So, I eagerly sat myself down the other night when I had ADORED, the eighth installment in the series, in my hands.

The crew has returned from Thanksgiving break and has to buckle down to get ready for finals. As with all the books in the series, ADORED only covers a couple of weeks in the lives of the gang at Waverly. All the players are back, and they've all got drama going on.

Callie is recently single, after having broken things off with Easy in INFAMOUS. She's on the prowl for a new beau, but it seems that the pickings are slim at Waverly. Everything changes when she spies an unknown hottie in the cafeteria.

Tinsley is back together with Julian, thanks to Yvonne Stidder's party in New York City. But now Tinsley has nagging thoughts that Julian may have lost his virginity already. He's only a freshman! And all Tinsley can do is picture Julian with...Jenny!

Jenny has become a small celebrity on campus. A group of freshman girls are filming her for a documentary for their class. The freshmen want to see how someone in the "in" crowd lives. But having a camera in her face at all hours is turning into a nightmare.

Brett is spreading herself too thin. After the senior prefect goes missing in action, the faculty comes to Brett and "asks" her to spearhead the Secret Santa program. And then, as if that wasn't enough, she gets suckered into organizing the Holiday Ball. How is she going to fit in studying for finals on top of those responsibilities?

And, as always, Heath Ferro is up to his old tricks. He's taken the Secret Santa and turned it into a Secret Satan event.

its christmas time at waverley academy and someone has corrupted the usual secret santa gift giving into secret satan where they have to give unsuitable secret gifts to each other. leads to a lot of laughs but maybe not for the students. jenny realises the price of fame when she gets filmed for a reality film, but in true jenny style she manages to get herself on the right path after a while. another funny addition to the series

This series just gets better and better. Each book brings with it new scandal, gossip and hook-ups, with a surprising amount of character development, too. In Adored, it's Secret Santa time at Waverly, which is hilariously changed to Secret Satan. I cracked up reading this, mostly because of the outrageous gifts the students buy for each other; everything from candles to male strippers.

New boy Sebastian finds himself surrounded by the school's female population, and it's all thanks to a predictable bet with flame-haired Brett. He's a great new addition to the cast of rich socialites, and I hope he sticks around for the next book. With Easy Walsh nowhere to be seen, Sebastian would serve as a good replacement for the Nate of the It Girl world.

Adored ended on quite a cliffhanger, with the promise of a character shake-up for the ninth book in the series, Devious. As always, I'm counting down the days until I can get my hands on the next one, and I'm glad I only have to wait a few months. 'Addictive' is the only word I can use to describe this series, and I now definitely prefer it to Gossip Girl!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Adore Adored! 25 Sept. 2009

This book is good, though its kind of funny how you find yourself more interested in whats going on in the other characters in the book instead of Jenny - who the series is supposed to be about. Jenny's character just seems to be losing steam. You're more interested in the glamorous live of Brett, Callie and Tinsley than the girl that sleeps in ugly pajamas and drools in her sleep. You began this series hoping Little Jenny Humphrey would rise to the top of Waverly's Elite and become The It Girl, stepping out of the shadows of Blair Waldorf & Sarena Van Der Woodsen, yet she's fallen into the shadows of Brett Messerschmidt, Callie Vernon & Tinsley Carmichael. Its sort of a let down, but you can't stop reading the books because you're so curious as to whats going on with the others in the books! My favorite - Brett. And this book keeps you waiting to hear more about her! I love The It Girl series!

Love that I found this book. I spent some time trying to get through the whole series through the library and it took forever, so I found the entire series here on Amazon! It was cheap and arrived quickly. Maybe when I'm done I'll resell the entire series as a whole together. Great buy!
