"Being part of the NAPP Help Desk team, I'm very familiar with the types of questions frequently asked by Lightroom users, and I have to tell you that Victoria has solid answers for all of them. If you've ever had a question about some Lightroom quirk, error message, or just how to do something that isn't as intuitive as it could be, I'd wager it's explained in a straightforward manner inside this book. The real strength of this book though is the fact that it was originally developed as an eBook (PDF format) to facilitate quick-and-easy searches of its contents right from your workstation. You can purchase the eBook alone (which is cheaper) or purchase the printed version and get the eBook for free. Head over to [...] for the best price and all the answers to your questions." -- Photoshop User Magazine, April 2009

"It's the most fun and easiest to read technical book I've ever picked up. For a right brain person who really wants to improve her images I found myself studying the table of contents intensely and within half an hour I went through 85 photos I'm presenting to a client and managed to improve every face shot in the whole grouping. It's the way she explains things, it's so easy to get even more excited about this program, within a day I found myself so excited about my processing improvements that I just had to call other photographer friends (who also use Photoshop) and brag about my new abilities." -- Jannie, POTN

"Well, I've read every word of it, and it's excellent work. Really, nobody working with LR should be without a copy of this resource. Difficult concepts clearly and simply explained." -- Brad Synder, Lightroom Forums

HASH(0x92552cd8) out of 5 stars Real answers to Real Questions 19 Sept. 2008
By David A. Huss - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
When I first heard there was an FAQ about Lightroom in the works, I had my doubts. I have seen too many books that claimed to be Frequently Asked Questions that were in fact a collection of tips reverse-engineered into a question format. As a Lightroom author myself I spend a share of my time in the Adobe Lightroom User-to-User forum answering questions all the while trying to get a feel for the kinds of questions people have about Lightroom so I can ensure the topic is covered in my book. I always thought it would be great if someone would distill all of the questions that are posted along with the correct answers and organize them into a book. This is exactly what the author has done. She has managed to collect and organize them into a single document. These real questions that are actually asked frequently (what a concept) are organized in such a way as to be easy to find. I cannot recommend this work highly enough. I just finished a 300+ page book on Lightroom 2 and I still find myself going though my copy of her book to refresh my memory on how something is supposed to work.

HASH(0x92552d2c) out of 5 stars Best Lightroom source available 28 Sept. 2008
By Bill Keane - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I am proud and happy to say that I have two personal friends who are deeply involved with PhotoShop and Lightroom. The first lectures over 300 days a year on PhotoShop and Lightroom, the other helped develop the software and is listed on the masthead as you open the program. I use Lightroom several hours a day in my business.

When I have a sticking point in Lightroom, I turn to Victoria's book! This is the most straight forward, easy to understand source for a wonderfully complex yet simple program. Victoria's web site [...] has in turn been my source for specific problems and relevant sources.

Buy this book!

HASH(0x92553180) out of 5 stars Different from Other Lightroom Books 22 Dec. 2008
By Robert Rickert - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
There are many books on Adobe Lightroom, many of which review each and every button and control of this terrific software program. These other books are very useful. Victoria Bampton has taken a different approach. She has assembled real life solutions to real life problems that users find when they attempt to utilize the full power of Adobe Lightroom.
When I first received the book I was amazed at the Table of Contents (41 pages), I looked at one issue that I had found with Lightroom and I found a solution to my problem. This, even before I completed reading the book!

I highly recommend this book.
HASH(0x9255354c) out of 5 stars Victoria Bampton's FAQ book on LR 2 5 Sept. 2009
By Mr Pepper - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I just started using LR 2 and have 3 books on how to use it as well as 2 training videos. I just came across Victoria's book and love it. I have the e-book and ordering the hard copy today.

If I had this book three weeks ago, I would be spending all my time taking pictures today and not scratching my head trying to figure out something with LR 2.

From a newbie's experience, I can tell you what would work best for me If I had it to do over again. Watch one of the training videos to tell you the basics of how LR 2 works. I have watched two or three and they give me a clear understanding of what is going on and how LR 2 works. But, my problem is, I forget many of the details. I then have to spend a lot of time going back over the books and video's trying to find this one thing that I cannot remember.

Of the three books I have on LR 2, none of them have a extensive index. I guess they think I have a photographic memory and don't have to refer back to their book again.

HASH(0x92553630) out of 5 stars Best Book on Lightroom 2 2 Mar. 2010
By Jacques Despres - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I own three other lightroom books and when I lost some data because of corrupted files, this was the only book I found the answers in. It was very simply to find the problems and how to fix them with how the book is set up. I think this is the best book on Lightroom 2. Thank you Victoria Bampton
