Top customer reviews
If you were planning to buy any of the Addi Swing crochet hooks for a friend, please do confirm how they hold their hook before investing in these. If they use a knife-grip, this could end up being the most comfortable hook they own. But if they use a pen-grip...ANY straight crochet hook in the world will be better than this. This one just doesn't work with a pen hold. Period.
For pen-holder grip crocheters wanting a quality crocheting experience, I would suggest trying the Clover Soft-Touch crochet hooks. There are plenty of reviews of that one already I believe. The design can be used by crocheters with different types of grips...so if you were buying as a gift and had no idea what their grip was like, that would be a safe choice.
I decided to give the Addi Swing a 5-star review, but again, for knife grip holders only. For anyone else....0 stars.
My last thought is...for the crocheters who experience pain when crocheting, if the Clover Soft Touch and others similar in style to it are not working for you, it might be worth the time to try out the Addi Swing and consider CHANGING YOUR GRIP STYLE. Because used as it is designed, the Addi Swing can be very comfortable to hold and possibly might enable you to enjoy the craft you love. I know that it might sound impossible to someone who has been crocheting a certain way for decades to consider changing their grip, but remember that learning new skills keeps your brain active and young!
