    well built and does the job perfectly.

    Im using this to connect my laptop which has a hdmi port, to my monitor which has a DVI port.

    something to consider though,is now your screen cannot sit as close against the wall, as this will connect to your monitor, which will further have a hdmi connector on it. so it sticks out at the back quite a bit more.

    something to consider, if you dont like this, than you can get other converters like hdmi male to female dvi. this will instead stick out of the computer rather than behind the monitor. although in that case you will need a dvi to dvi cable rather than using a hdmi cable.

    I needed to connect up my new format Macmini (HDMI output) to my existing monitor (RGB or DVI inputs) and this was exactly what I needed using a spare HDMI cable. Works perfectly and the connector makes for a handy backup if I'm presenting from my notebook (which also has HDMI output, but many older projectors do not).

    My monitor's female DVI port faces down rather than outwards, so the connector had to fit flat against the monitor, meaning there was only *just* enough clearance to fit this connector and the end of the HDMI cable. You probably need to ensure that around 2 inches of clearance are available to avoid bending an HDMI cable too tightly, and so that you can insert and remove the cable without risk of damaging the complex pins on the DVI connector.

    just got it and obviously it doesn't work. I'm sick and tired of getting small items from amazon that are faulty...things that you'd think should work with no problem and they make you waste time and money as obviously you don't bother getting a refund on them

    Adapter works well, though I've ordered this a few times and it varies for if it comes in black or blue, doesn't make any difference to me but for some people it may.

    The adapter is made of sturdy materials and I think will last longer than the TV it's currently connected to.
