4.0 out of 5 stars Guitar Gimoire 13 Mar. 2014
By James Murphy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Although I've been playing guitar for forty years, I wanted to see about offering my services as an instructor. I purchased this book to see how to teach the guitar. The hooded guy seems like a strange affectation, but other than that, this book is solid. My intention is to purchase the entire series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun 18 Jun. 2011
By Franscis - Published on Amazon.com

Thia guy is a trip. If you've never played guitar like myself, this is a good place to start. Though he seems to really know what he's doing, he doesn't take himself very seriously (he wears a hooded cape while he teaches) he can have you playing guitar....as long as you practice.

Great material for learning fundamental guitar with basic theory. I recommend this for every beginner.

Do you have a copy? No, well what/who are you waiting for?

3.0 out of 5 stars Very basic... written for the very first time guitar player 12 Dec. 2010
By Phony Money - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book starts off with open chords using basic major, min and dom chords. With them, it uses basic up down down up strums to teach chord changes. And that my friends sums up what this book. It does advance a little bit; so not all rhythm examples are easy. If you have been playing for several months, then all of the examples should be easy. However, if you are just beginning to get into rhythm, then this book is a good choice unless you want to learn songs. No popular songs in this book eventhough it uses popular rhythm changes, such as C-Am-Em-G7-C, and so forth.

Thus, if you are just starting out and not interested in learning some rock, blues or even country songs, then this book is for you. Otherwise, keep looking...

enjoy
