Algy was never one of my better subjects at school (half a century ago!) but this book has helped to create a more informed algebra partition in my aging brain! Very easy to understand the concepts that it so cleverly puts across. Would recommend.

I needed to do some algebra and I had forgotten what I learned at school. The title of this appealed to me. This book makes it so easy. I solved my problem with the help of this book. I would definitely recommend it.

This is the kind of explanation I wish I had received when I was at school struggling with all kinds of maths. Humorous, and with enough repetition (not too much) to make the concepts clear, I really enjoyed the introduction. Now I have to go through the examples more thoroughly - but this time, I won't get lost (at least, I expect not to).

I am using this book as a refresher. It is clearly written and easy to understand. bear in mind that I am not new to algebra and maths in general, so maybe I am not the best judge.

Beginning is ok,but a microscope is required to read the working out in the square root section onwards, the examples are difficult to read rather irritating to say the least

Phil Cohen offers a great introduction to algebra with a slow, thorough incline into technicality. I particularly enjoyed the real life situational examples and easy to utilise equations. the only reason this book was given four stars is shearly down to the size of it which I felt was a little brief for a mathematical enthusiast.

I was expecting a few explanations on practical uses of algebra but it didn't do as it said on the cover
