I was a little less in love with the plot, because there wasn't much of it. And I was really a bit fed up with the whole Will thing by the end of the book. I didn't really fall for the way that Lainie blurted out Troy's big secret. But you know this wasn't a book about plot. It was a feisty, funny, touching romance that kept me turning the pages and it kept me smiling right to the end. Will definitely be reading more from Lucy Parker.
Everything about this book was fantastic. I finished it and wanted to read it again. Why are there not more Lucy Parker books in the world? I would seriously binge read everything she's written and not get bored. This is the good kind of romance with a fantastic story and a totally awesome romance that you will never grow tired of.
This is a romance of the the best kind as it has intelligent and witty writing. The way Lainie and Richard act and respond to each other made sense, they were real people. The minor characters were all interesting and not as so often cardboard cut-outs.
I am looking forward to this author's next book.
This story is simple but very well written. Lainie and Richard are theatre actors forced to pretend they are developing a romantic relationship and a real romance unexpectedly builds up from there. Perhaps the plot sounds like something you’ve heard before, but it isn’t predictable. I am hard to impress - and yet I loved it.
There is no insta-love here. The reader is shown by words, deeds and character development how this couple falls in love. I loved watching the gradual thaw of the outwardly cold hero Richard, and how a woman who is quirky and natural was able to captivate him. I became emotionally invested in this book.
This was a new author to me and I was impressed by the pace of the story, the humour, the developing awareness to the growing attraction to love. It was extremely well done. When I finished, I just went back and re-read the whole thing the next day. And laughed and smiled at the story’s beauty all over again. The story really was beautifully written.
If this is the quality of work this author produces in the infancy of her writing career, I look forward to watching her writing develop in many books for many years to come.
I was so pleased that there were no typographical or grammatical errors to distract me. This book was a pure pleasure to read.
If you’re not sure, read the sample chapter provided by Amazon. After the sample chapter ends, the book just gets better.
*Contains sex scenes without containing sex scenes. Really well created images form in your mind without graphic description. Classy. Superb.
