HASH(0x8e583468) out of 5 stars Elton John is by far one of the greatest singers ever 26 July 2015

Elton John is by far one of the greatest singers ever. If you are on this album, you rock! Each artist made EJ's music their own, which isn't hard to do when it comes from the heart. Must love and appreciate female artists to appreciate this tribute. Fabulous sounds on Bose system. Love it. Much Aloha

HASH(0x8f27f1bc) out of 5 stars excellent tribute compilation 22 Nov. 2009

I've never heard of any of the artists on the CD, but this a great collection of voices, many reminiscent of Norah Jones, but covering great Elton tracks. I have enjoyed playing this in the background while working or engaging in other tasks.

HASH(0x9088faf8) out of 5 stars From the samples, I couldn't recommend this CD. 3 Jan. 2012

I am open to differnt interpretations of pop music, and I could see Tiny Dancer and Your Song as acceptable on this album, but most of the other stuff, from the samples sounds like sparce instrumentation with demure vocals. The vocals are clear as a bell, but do not appear varried in mood. To be fair, I only listened to the samples, but all seem to me demure. Are these singers all depressed, or do "sad songs say so much" in the cash register?

For the price of this tribute ($34 as of Jan 2012) this is clearly not in my $300 cart today.
In my view, it is priced at 10x it's apparent value, and if we wait long enough, it will be in the bargin bins at Walmart. However, I'll never know, 'cuz I don't shop there.

The good new is that there are some instrumental versions of EJ hits that I can recommend to you:

- Hits of Elton John on Guitar (Hopefully they will restock) - Artist not provided but samples are!
- Plays Elton John by excellent pianist David Osborne, also with sample for you!

BTW, if you happen to be a Beatles fan, which I am as well as EJ, then the best instrumentsl tribute
I've found is by guatarist Neil Hogan. It is called "A Beatles Collection" and is outstanding.
In fact, it is in my top 100 CD's of my 10k CD library!
