Dr.Claude Steiner has done a laudable work by writing a book on"Achieving Emotional Literacy" in 1997.This book is,infact,a tool in enhancing the emotional intelligence among men and women who are really interested in this aspect of human behavior. The author has adopted the principles and methods of transactional Analysis approach for developing ways of teaching emotional literacy or awareness. He has developed his training programme by three stages i.e.knowing about our feelings, recognising other people'feelings and developing the love-centered abilities to express our feelings.Really,it is a love-centered approach for enhancing our emotional intelligence which would be very useful to all men and women for their wellbeings and effectiveness in teir lives as well as at their places of work. The practical training as outlines in the book will develop our ability to recognise, understand and appropriately express our emotions. It will improve our self-image,self confidence and self-concept which are essential ingradients of our well integrated personality.I recommend the readers to go through this book thoroughly inorder to learn about emotional literacy.(Prof.Agya Jit Singh,Ph.D)

I had this recommended at a conference I attended by a speaker who I found really excellent - so I bought the book. I found it hard going at first but it has rewarded the effort and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in this topic
