Pros:
+Metal body is super rigid. I can throw it around like a work tool; durability is far beyond other laptops at this price.
+Specs are very good at this price considering the build quality.
+The sceen folds flat. I hadnt thought of this as being something worth saying until iv used it. And now I do use it quite often. Sometimes I strap it to a Vesa mount and have it flat like a screen. Its a great space saver when youre using multiple laptops.
++SO Happy with the heatsink. Finally a team that takes cooling seriously! I dont think iv seen the GPU and CPU go over 75C*
+Because of the heatsink design, its quiet, even when rendering (Iv got the i5, its just rendering audio files mostly).
+Iv found the i5 and the MX150 to be adiquate for my needs. Maybe next year we will have a 6 core model at this price point though, thatd be good. By then im sure I will need it. Excellent for Adobe CC stuff (all of them), meshmixer, java work, music production stuff works well. Go for it.
+Great battery life. I suck at reviewing so I havent recorded how long Iv actually been getting out of the battery. Maybe like 8 to 10 hours if im not rendering anything. If youre gonna use it for uni work, you'd definitely get that easy. Take your charger tho, its small, you fool.
Mids:
~The colours pop and the screen has a wide range, however, the screen brightness sucks. And this may also let down the lovely gloss panel. Could of nailed that one, but dim screen lets it down.
~I think at this day and age the webcam should have a mechanism to hide its view. I put tape over mine, and it looks crappy after taking it off for a call.
~The body is metal so, get a decent rucksack and youll be fine.
Cons:
-The DAC kinda sucks. Its not as good as the one in my OnePlus 3. A while ago the sound (windows 10 driver issues) would screech randomly. At the moment, the bass has this weird sine wave layered over it. Some weird delay around 20 to 60 Hz. I cant hear it on small headphones, but its so obvious with e.g. Sony WH-1000XM2, and with a few others in that price range. I understand though that the laptop may not be in the price range of some who would spend that amount of money on headphones, however, theres a huge rise in creative industry and students to follow it. I believe its a point to be made because it could be very important to other people in this field.

First things first I bought this laptop for it power, looks and battery life. The aluminium build is great looking and has a nice weight and feel to it, some of the rounded edges are sharp which causes discomfort for even short periods of time and the hing for the screen is slightly to lose if you pick up the laptop off a desk sometimes the screen falls back slightly.
The power of the computer is great, absolutely fantastic and for the size of the laptop it cannot be beaten for the price point its a great power house which I've used for music editing, photo editing, web browsing and watching films - Note: If the Laptop is't in the selected battery mode "High Performance" The laptop wont use the Nvidia graphics card and will use the i5's built in graphics..
Battery life is where i feel the system lets its self down with the battery supposedly having a 7 hour battery life i struggle to see where Acer gets this figure from as the computer has to be in 'power saver' for the computer to achieve this which limits the features on the laptop there for not being able to use it for what its intended for. To use the laptop for what you'd expect it to do and have the system in 'High Performance' you can expect a battery life of around 4 hours.
For a computer that was £750 it is powerful and Good Looking the downfall is the battery and if you can live with the somewhat limited power at times and have the power there when you need it, its a great machine doing both light work and heavy tasks no problem.
There are two downsides to this laptop, the first downside being the fact the RAM is soldiered onto the motherboard which leave no room for any upgrade in the future when programs become more demanding and there is a need for more than 8GB.
The other downside is the screen, although it does not bother me most of the time I find it is a little dim at MAX brightness and on a black screen there is some screen bleed where you can see excess light coming from certain areas of the screen.
The major upsides to this laptop however are its slim design, it comes with 256GB SSD which can be upgraded and you also add a second SSD into it which is good if your like me and want to run two operating systems at once e.g. Windows 10/Linux. The CPU is powerful being the first Intel i5 processor in a laptop to have 4 core with 8 threads configuration, making multi-tasking CPU demanding programs a breeze.
Overall I think the laptop was good value for money at the price I purchased it for £679.98 during a limited time price reduction.
Keyboard and trackpad are actually nice to use unlike some others at this price point.
Screen is dimmer than my Surface Pro 3 but still quite usable especially if you're not in direct sunlight.
The only downer for me is the fingerprint sensor - it sometimes doesn't work when resuming the laptop from sleep. It will be undetected in Windows and only a restart would fix it. This is with the latest Windows updates installed and the most recent driver updates from Acer themselves.
