Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I use the Netbook in conjunction with my LG LCD TV so bought a 3.5mm stereo jack extention lead & VGA monitor lead. All worked well for about 2 weeks. Then it became impossible to switch from the Netbook screen to the LCD TV screen. Checked that it wasn't the cable, by pluging it into another monitor. Now hoping it was a software problem I contacted the Amazon free phone number only to be told that they were unable to assit with Netbooks & was given Acer contact number, not free phone. They were contacted but unable to help & was given a complicated returns procedure that involves you contacting the courier & arranging collection.
I still haven't sent it back & am not sure I can be bothered unless something else goes wrong.
In conclusion don't buy an Acer Netbook from Amazon, even if you have to pay a bit more go to your local PC World, Dixons etc. Then at least when it goes wrong you can just take it back there & get it sorted.
Other than the above problems the Netbook seems to be working well & was easy to set up & use. If it wasn't for the above problems I would probably have given it a 5 star rating.
Sadly it suffered a very nasty knock and died while away from home - beyond economic repair so I had to look for a replacement. My old one was the 9" version but this has the 10" screen. It also has the 'seven hour' 6 cell battery. Not sure if it lasts the claimed 6-7 hours but it does last much longer than the old machine with the 3 cell battery, probably just about long enough for a day's work.
I've split the hard drive to have XP Pro on one partition and Ubuntu Linux on the other - it works superbly and with the addition of a Vodafone 3G dongle I can access my email almost anywhere!
