If you are looking to add a PC capability to your TV for the minimal outlay this could be for you. It comes loaded with Acer's version of Linpus Linux. The problem with this version of Linux is that you are rather reliant on Acer to decide what programs you want to install. Almost all users will I think be planning to install another Op system on this machine such as Ubuntu 9.12 which works very well. With 1G of memory it will run very well with Linux. As long as you don't want to run too many programs at the same time it also runs pretty smoothly with Windows 7 (32bit). Windows 7 (64bit) also runs well enough if you dont do too much else but if you plan to stick to 1G of R<M you are best putting Ubuntu or Win7 (32bit) on it. The memory can be upgraded easily though you will invalidate the warranty. It has two SODIMM slots one with a stick of 1G so the obvious upgrade is to add another stick or 1G or 2G. You can also replace the hard drive with 500G internal laptop drives currently costing around GBP65.

These machines are virtually silent, come with VESA mounts to put on your TV. The connectivity is great with HDMI, VGA, optical and analogue output. 5 USB2 an eSATA etc. It has a wireless card on board but it doesn't pick up signals was well as my netbooks so better if you have a strong signal or a wired connection.

The Wired keyboard and mouse are bacic but rather nice.

This is the lowest spec 3610 Revo (worth getting over the older single core 3600). If you promaily want to use it to add masic web surfing and say Spotify to your TV you probably dont need more than 1G memory and a 160G hard drive its a great buy, if you are planning on upgrading, you may as well go for the higher end models and save yourself some time, the savings would not be great.
