Aced is the second book of the blocked series, Alejandro gets plenty of female attention but his faith keeps him from sins of the flesh. Maddie Brooks is an all star volley ball player and future olympian. They are drawn together but throw in politics, religion and racism will their love survive?
Wow, this love story blew me away! Alejandro and Maddie are two people who shouldn't be together but fit perfectly. The author does an amazing job of tackling sensitive subjects, showing both sides of the argument. This book makes you laugh, cry and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Alejandro is such a sweetheart, Maddie is a lucky girl! Lucia and Dane appear too so you get to see how their romance grows, well worth a read.

This book picks up near where Blocked ends so I urge you to read Blocked first. This is another YA romance by Jennifer Lane and she has done it again with her crafty words and heartfelt story lines.
Maddison Brooks is in her last year at Highbanks College before she graduates and is contemplating the future – a career in the USA Volleyball team or med-school? Having just broken up with her boyfriend of 3 years, she has no idea why he left her or why she wasn’t good enough for him.
Alejandro Ramirez is the oldest of 3 siblings and is the first born son of the President of the United States of America. He has always looked out for his younger siblings, putting their needs before his own and is always seeking his father’s approval. He has always followed in the Catholic faith and has his values in check, until he meets Maddie; his sister’s best friend and teammate.
All his values go flying out the window with one look from Maddie and she can’t understand why Alejandro would look twice at her. Could the Mexican’s President’s son and a black girl from a single parent family really find love with each other?
Yet again I was hooked on this book. Maddie is such a sweetheart and yet so insecure of herself. I just wanted to yell at her about how beautiful she clearly is and make her just accept that Alejandro likes her. Alejandro is also a sweetheart but also a fine specimen of a man but his inner conflict between his head and heart is crushing. I loved the way the author infused Lucia and Dane from Blocked into the story too as I knew their journey hadn’t finished yet. Again there are some touchy subjects explored in this book and they are written with ease, sensitivity and with a clear understanding. I love Jennifer’s writing as it sucks me into the story so quickly that before I know it I have read 5 chapters and am hungry for more. I cannot wait to read the third installment of these books. Bring it on!!

OMG... I loved reading Blocked which is Book 1 in the Blocked Series, which I highly recommend in reading before you dive into this AMAZING Book 2 - Aced. As all the characters from the 1st one do cross over in this one. As I was kind of left hanging in who's parent was going to be elected the President of USA, we get to know in the 1st chapter - phew! lol
This story centred on Lucia Ramirez's older brother Alejandro a medical student and her volleyball team mate Maddie Brooks that I've came to adore from the 1st one.
OMG..... move over Dane Monroe and hello Alejandro, strong, protective, oh and a HOTTIE LATINO!! What more can a girl ask for I say?
Just couldn't put it down as the banter between this couple really had me laughing and crying... All I can say as I don't do spoilers is this.... You will absolutely WONT be disappointed with this one.
PSST.... I have a confession... I love this book Aced MORE than Blocked!! Go on and see for yourself!
This author did a FANTASTIC job in bringing these characters to live dealing with real issues and beliefs. So can't wait to read more by this author!

Jennifer Lane's done it again, and I zoomed through this one in one sitting, much to my family's chagrin.
I loved Alejandro, and loved, loved loved Maddie. I loved that they both had issues, but the plot's pace was lightning quick and kept me guessing.
I am so happy to read a book with a strong female lead who knows what she wants. And I really enjoyed Alejandro. He's sexy, he's smart, he's ambitious, but he's warm and focused on taking care of his family and worried about being true to himself and his faith. He is a HUGELY refreshing change of pace from the dark, damaged anti-heroes in a lot of romance right now. He's proof that you can be strong and alpha and not destroy a woman, but lift her up.
I love that the relationship that develops between Maddie and Alejandro is good for them both. I love that their romance never falters because of cliched, tired reasons. Their relationship seems to move along at a real and satisfying pace.
I'd highly recommend this, and though it's fun to have read Blocked first, I don't think you would necessarily have to.
Well done and keep it up -- and here's my one failed attempt at a volleyball metaphor for the night -- this one's a kill right in the corner of the court -- definitely scores the winning point for me (see you can tell I don't really know volleyball).
