I purchased this item by chance as I have a camera which was going through 2100 AA batteries for fun, initially thinking there was a problem with the batteries (I have 8 LSD AA's in total) so I was going to buy some 2500 Low self discharge batteries.I saw this and previously only having a charger which charged the batteries in pairs-I gave it a go thinking it would prove my batteries are at fault. How wrong I was!All 8 batteries were perfect- so immediately this charger saved me wasting money on 4 expensive AA batteries that were not required- that was worth it on it own, but its clever because it also allows to:1) Charge batteries to the correct level then goes on a trickle charge- it will not cook your batteries if you forget or leave them in the charger2) Discharge- it will remove memory effect of NICD batteries3) Refresh- this is my favourite function and what I used for all my rechargeables- it discharges and recharges numerous times until the maximum capacity is reached and then gives the final capacity.I found my 2100Mah quoted Uniross Hybrios were between 2000 and 2070, not bad, but my 2100 quoted Enerpro's (blue in colour) were between 2170 and 2240, the company actually understated the capapcity which is rare! It can take a few days to complete but is worth it once every 6 to 12 months4) Testing- this tests the battery by charging, discharging and finally charging to full. It's from the discharge cycle it gives the battery capacity. It has a full led display of various stages in the charging/ discharging process which is very useful, now I am in control of the batteries and can use them (or dispose of bad ones) in full confidence. There is the option of charging rates of 200, 500 or 700Mah.For AAA I use 200, for my 2100 AA's I use the 700- this is halved when discharging i.e. 100, 250, and 350The instruction manual is fairly in-depth and mandatory reading unless one is a battery geek.NegativesDisplay could be a bit bigger and the 3 buttons are a little on the cheap side- but they do work Ok.Maybe a bit more gaps between batteries for heat escape during charging.Plug is an adaptor type so it quite large, although it can be used worldwide which is very usefulCant give long-term reliability as only used for 2 months. So overall an excellent charger which will probably save money from the off by bringing to life old batteries, not buying new batteries unnecessarily and keeping existing batteries in good health for longer.I recommended this charger, as no more battery headaches and guesswork, its also quite addictive!

After some carfeul research I decided to get this battery charger, and then tried to find the best value way of buying it. I believe this is it.

With our two children each having a digital camera (one of which takes 4 x AA, the other on 2 x AA) and our younger son having a Leapster electronic game which takes 4 x AA it was getting very expensive using ordinary batteries.

I've been down the rechargeable battery route before and have old chargers lurking about in my shed, but they never really worked very well.

I like that with this I can discharge and then recharge to eliminate "memory" problems. I also like that I can test the capacity of a battery, and perhaps even better, bring a dead rechargeable back to being a useful battery again, by doing a refresh.

So far, I have just put some ancient NiMh batteries on TEST mode.

The product seems like a nicely made item, and the instructions are fairly clear.

It said in the item description that it is the German version with German transformer and plug, and that a UK travel adapter would be included. Well it was even better than that. The transformer is the same for German and UK markets and like older Blackberry chargers it just has a different "Front" to pop onto the transformer to provide the pins. Sure enough mine had the european pins, but also included were some UK pins, so all I had to do was pop the Euro ones off and pop the UK ones on, so no wobbly adapter for me!
The advertised item was an AccuCell BC-700, what actually arrived was a TechnoLine BC-700, which I believe is the exact same product but with different branding. Anyway, I was pleased, as personally I think I prefer the look of the TechnoLine version.

Excellent service, arrived the next day!!

I would definitely recommend this charger and this supplier to friends and relatives.

OK, so let me first say that in the product picture, if you look very closely, you will see that the mains adapter has a European plug. This is your visual clue. Act on it.

I have to say I was actually expecting the charger to be supplied with a UK plug - or at least interchangeable plug modules, as with many mains adapters. Maybe this was my being too optimistic.

No - this very definitely comes with a European plug. And a rather cheap and nasty European to UK plug-in adapter. This all makes for a somewhat clumsy and bulky arrangement, which is not in any way compact. Maybe the product description should have made this more clear - I personally think so. Oh, and despite the product description, it's not branded 'AccuCell' - it's actually branded 'TechnoLine'. The charger supplied is clearly an imported Germany unit. The box text is in German, after all.

Having pondered over whether to return the unit, I got around the problem by recycling an old UK plug module from a Seagate PSU and soldering and glueing it onto the front of the one supplied with this unit, instantly voiding the warranty. But hey, it's a lot more compact now, it still works, and I saved myself a tenner.

The charger itself cannot be faulted. It has multiple charging modes which are simple to select, including a mode to measure the capacity of your cells, which is very useful. You can charge any number of cells at once ranging from 1 to 4, as each bay has its own charging circuit and display. For the money, this is a very sophisticated piece of kit. What it does not have is a super-fast charging mode - however, fast charging will inevitably harm the capacity of your cells over time, so it is not recommended.

I liked the charger so much, I bought another - this time one with a UK adapter.

My advice? Pay the extra for the genuine UK model. I know it costs a little extra, but it's just a much better solution. The charger is excellent.

Apart from that the charger itself is great. I'd rate the UK model 5 stars.

The method of use is somewhat complicated and slightly frought - what's all this about having to select settings and options within 8 seconds? - but once you've taken time to read the instructions it's reasonably clear. What I like though about this charger is that you can charge up to four batteries at a time, and each battery with independent settings if you wish. Nice if you're mixing new batteries as well as elderly ones. I like the LCD display which tells you what's happening (for each battery). I would rather the unit had an 'OK' button to confirm options and settings, rather than having to make sure to select them within 8 seconds: not terribly user-friendly. Mine arrived with a choice of UK or EU mains adapter fittings, the UK fitting slotted on nicely and I have no complaints with that. My unit was labelled as "Technoline", not "Accubell", but it's clearly the same item as advertised. Overall, I'm pleased I bought this item, it has rescued some seemingly clapped-out batteries and it seems to do its job very well.

I've had two of these. Both have failed under a year. Amazon were very good about sorting out a refund. But frustrated with the quality.

Bought this item from Amazon about 14 months ago.was quite happy with it, managed to recharge all the batteries that were awaiting a top up.Had no need to use it for a few months and put it to one side. When i needed it next i found that the LCD display no longer worked and that the batteries failed to charge up. I boxed up this item with a covering letter explaining the problem and sent it off to the distributors who were based in Germany, in December 2012 but since then i have received no contact.
