The front cover is very curved compared to other clocks I've owned which means it catches the light and makes it difficult to read the time. There's also a large sticker glued to the front which serves no purpose and makes it even harder to read. As others have mentioned battery drain is very high not helped by the clock resetting to midnight just before 2.00am every morning. I've not had any other radio controlled clock do that and if you need to know the time around then the clock is completely useless.

I bought this for our daughter as she likes the ticking of the clock we have in the sitting room, this ticks quietly and is a great soother for our daughter. It is accurate and sets up no problem, but you do have to wait a bit before it starts reading the time as it picks up the signal from Anthorn in Cumbria. I suppose the closer you are and less there is in the way to attenuate the signal, the quicker it may set up. Definitely recommend, just a pity they don't have one similar with the tritium illumination beads.

I nearly sent this back, as I thought it was broken. After approx 6 months of use, this clock started losing time - and on inspection it was obvious that the hands were "sticking" as they passed certain areas of the clock face. My first thought was that the battery must be on the way out - but the battery was only 6 months old (and a decent brand), which was a surprise. Nonetheless I tested it, and battery tester showed it was still healthy. Numerous master resets later, the clock finally stopped altogether. I tested battery again, and it still showed good - so I put the same battery back in, gave it a master reset, and it worked for a few more days before giving up.

Having found the battery to be healthy (according to my tester), I therefore assumed there must be a fault with the clock. By this stage I had resolved to send it back, and I remembered some others had had similar experiences (based on some of the negative reviews here). In my mind I'd already started putting together a scathing review.

But before I packed it up I tried a brand new battery - same brand (Energizer). And now the clock works as normal.

After reading this review it probably seems obvious to everyone that the battery was at fault - but the fact that the old (dead?) battery was a known brand that only lasted 6 months from new was a surprise to me. I have another radio clock which has kept good time, and hasn't needed a new battery in around 12 months so far. Also the fact that my battery tester shows the old (dead?) battery in good health - and only slightly weaker than a brand new battery - seems to suggest that the battery is still perfectly useable, but that the clock needs quite a lot of power to keep it going. Even if the tester is inaccurate, the clock has still got through an Energizer battery in approx 6 months which can't be good.

So I've dropped it a couple of stars since it seems to get through batteries so quickly (based on my experience with another radio clock): getting through 1 good-brand battery every 6 months seems unusual to me.

I have had this Clock since November 2013 and it has been perfect. The only thing I would say that last year, changeing to BST and then when the clocks went back in October the clock did not change itself until 12 noon. I am now today, on 25th October 2015, I am expecting the clock to change automatically at 12 noon! I had tried to do it manually last year and would not advise anyone to do so. I got into all kinds of complications until I finally gave up and later it had changed at 12 noon. So my advice is to just wait!!

After reading other reviews on this clock, I bought one. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the clock and the ease to set it up! I kind of thought that it might look a bit tacky, but it doesn't. In fact it looks quite pleasing to the eye, albeit, plain.

Setting this clock up was very easy. Just insert the battery and hang on the wall!! You don't even have to set the time if you don't want to, because that's what the radio control part is for... It sets it for you and absolutely acurately!! Try it and see... Insert the battery, hang and watch the hands move one by one by themselves. I went to bed and woke up to the correct time!!

One less clock to worry about when the hour goes back or forward!

I love this clock. Just hope the battery lasts a reasonable amount of time!

BETTER THAN CLOCKWORK

Received next day! It was showing correct time within an hour of putting in the batteries and hanging on the wall and has worked perfectly since (about a month ago).

The gloss white - really VERY white - plastic case, white dial and black hands and lettering are, to my eyes (lover of good industrial design and amateur artist) very elegant. The only slight niggle I have is that the zero in the number ten is smaller than all the other digits on the dial, which offends my eye somewhat. I can't think why it was printed like that - maybe it was an error, which is why this version is so much cheaper than the silver colour case and metal case versions by the same maker, where all the digits are the same size. Anyway, it's clearly shown on the photos, so you can have a look and make up your own mind. I'm certainly not offended enough to replace it - it looks good, keeps perfect time and doesn't need checking and re-setting every week or so.

What more can you ask of a clock?
