I love this Nunzilla - have bought many of them over the years and have even made a short film of them waddling through the countryside (well, ok, my table), breathing sparks and looking a right angry mess. If you are buying this toy for durability - forget it - it's really not going to survive a tidal wave or being thrown about - but if you want to have a bit of a laugh every now and then, go for it. As for educational value - well, I suppose it depends on one's view of the right to make fun of one's own (or others') religions. Personally, I think this is a critical, essential right to free speech and freedom of religion, so, not to get too overly high handed about it, I'd say it's educational value is quite strong (though maybe not a 5)! The only thing I'd really caution anyone about concerns where one actually purchases this toy. Some companies will charge postage per item even if multiple amounts are going to the same address (and since they weigh almost nothing, this is really annoying). So just be careful at checkout.

If you want a cheap novelty item ideal for someone with an irrational fear of nuns, then this is the thing for you. The fire breathing feature works well enough at first and the mechanism is OK. It's not the sort of thing that will last a lifetime but it does what it should as well as you could expect.

I must admit I bought this for myself a few years back as a laugh. She is still going strong, giving me her stern look whenever I do anything wrong. Wind her up and watch her coming towards you across the table, with the sparks flying from her mouth. If you remember the old tin robots that used to have sparks in their chests, this works the same way, and so far seems to be as durable as they were.

An ideal present for anyone who used to face the nuns' wrath at school, or just as a novelty for yourself. If you unleash this on your desktop at work it is sure to give a few chuckles to your fellow workers.

Really does work, best viewed in a lowly lit room and on a high surface such as a long table

4.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgia 24 Mar. 2011
By jemstone - Published on Amazon.com
I got this nun to put on my coffee table, to remind myself not to laugh or have fun. Sometimes when Im watching a funny movie, I accidentally laugh, but when I see her reprimanding glare, I immediately stop and say 5 Hail Mary's.
Whenever I see a handsome man on the tv, I see her and i remember that feelings of attraction are wrong and I hit myself with a ruler.
Mainly, I like her around for the nostalgia. It brings me back to my schoolyard days of being hit, yelled at, and reprimanded by the nuns. Ahhh, childhood.

Very cute wind up toy. She actually does shoot sparks from her mouth, so cute. I actually have 2 and my daughter & I race them for our own game. great gift for a favorite priest or nun, or just about any one who would enjoy it.

For those of us who are grateful to the good Sisters for all they taught us, we're still entitled to have a few laughs about it all from time to time. This toy fills the bill & the price is right. Well worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars HILARIOUS 8 May 2009

I bought this product for my boyfriend a while back as a funny Birthday present. We both really enjoy odd, stupid, funny, witty (you get the point) gifts. Yes sparks do fly out of her mouth. She has been part of our family for about a year now, and still functions very well, sparks still fly. Truly a unique and funny gift, and lots of fun. It has inspired lots of laughter and is a good conversation piece for those with a sense of humor.
