This is a standalone dark romance.

This is the story of Evie and Ezra. When we first meet Evie she pretty much completely broken. I don't mean some man has done her over and broke her heart. No i mean she's completely messed up from growing up in a kind of religious cult. Told she's a sinner her whole life she believes it. She's taught that beauty makes others sin. That her beauty is the cause for everything bad that happens to her so she must endure pain and suffering to get forgiveness. Yep pretty messed up. She escapes and goes on a mission for god (or so she believes) to rid the world of bad men who sin. Who make her a sinner. Then we have Ezra. Equally broken by his past in his own depraved way. Taught not to have any emotion towards anyone or anything Ezra is a very bad man. He pimps out women to some very sick men after he has conditioned them to take what they need to in order to earn him money. He has serious connections with the mob and thinks nothing of killing people. He takes it all in his stride with a puff of his cigarette and a sinful smirk.

I won't say much more about the plot as i don't want to give spoilers.

OK so I'm kinda worried about my own sanity after reading this book. Reason being i actually could relate to these two. Well not personally because I'm not from a religious cult and i don't kill people in my line of business but you get my meaning. I felt desperately sorry for both of them from the start. They both made the best of the life they had forced on them. The story is a slow burn kinda story the crazy kinda creeps up on you and when it does go full on crazy it funnily feels normal... I was eager to turn each and very page i wasn't sure what was about to come next!

Stevie J Cole and LP Lovell partner up perfectly again to bring another dark and gritty tale to the table. Wicked and warped all at the same time, Absolution is a delight for fans of a darker read. Skewed religious concepts run riot through this story, coupled with a kind of twisted BDSM sub plot keeps the reader turning those pages. As good as this is and as much as I liked it, I really didn’t love it. For me it lacked something and I really don’t know what that something is. This is nothing like Wrath or Wrong but it does have that same intensity found within those books. It’s pretty raw and disturbing but it’s not the worst that I have read.
Evie and Ezra are two characters that are really hard to get a handle on, there is no understanding this pair whatsoever. I don’t think I had the ability to sympathise with either, however I did find a marginal soft spot for Evie. Her religious ramblings had me feeling like this woman was just nuts, that she had seriously lost the plot. But then again Ezra was so far from normal that it was quite clear the two would and could connect on a level that just boggles the mind. Ezra was a thorn in my side; I wouldn’t say I needed to see a slight softening to him but it was there in some form all the same. God that man was very bad indeed and no wonder Evie spiralled at times.
It’s definitely an uncomfortable read for those that don’t relish the darker side. For me though I felt I could read it well enough without that gagging sensation coming up to greet me. The warning should be heeded if you “stray” onto this book as it’s not your normal kind of read. Don’t get me wrong, there’s quite an intense love story to be found in here but it screams of control and creepiness and abuse.

"Forgive me Father for I have sinned" !!! WOW what a book. Loved it totally, well written, and it flowed really well all through the book.
This is about Evie and Ezra. Both are broken in different ways. Evie, through her childhood, through constant abuse. Ezra shows no feeling for anyone, towards anything. He is a bad person who pimps out women to bad men who want their women to do just about anything that would make your toes curl. Evie is on a mission from God, to destroy and kill any man she comes into contact with, she trusts no man at all. Evie and Ezra meet and though they are not your usual couple, I couldn't help but like them, they definitely grew on you if that was possible at all, and by the end of the book I was waving the flag for them both !! I felt for them, I ached for them, sometimes I despised them but boy did I enjoy them.
I'm all for dark reads, I love them. I have read some of the worse, but I didn't think this was particularly an extremely dark book, BUT I did think it was very brutal, full of angst, sad, desperate, hopeful and I so enjoyed reading it. I didn't see what was coming at the end which was a great suprise, and I love suprises !!!!!!!
This is the first book I have read from these authors and now it won't be the last by any means. A brilliant book that I fully recommend to read !!!

I've been looking for something dark, dirty and depraved to sink my teeth in to for a while now. Every thing else I've tried just hasn't got my juices flowing.
Absolution did that, and so much more. It is a tale of all things taboo. A walk on the dark side. Boundaries are pushed, there are twists and turns, ups and downs. It's like the world's most messed up roller coaster. But there's also a little something extra, I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it is but while I was wallowing in a pit of darkness there were these little glimpses of light.
Ezra is pure genius! I just love his messed up self. He's the epitome of classic English bad boy, think Ronnie Kray, only less gay.
As for our little killer...wow! She is fierce and relentless yet delicate and indecisive. A complete contradiction, yet such a warming character.
And that plot twist bombshell about you know who....ugh! I didn't see that coming. Well played ladies!
My thumb got a strain from swiping my Kindle, my pupils didn't see my eyelids until stupid o'clock in the morning, my husband got no sense out of me.
One of the best books I've read for a long time and I am definitely going to dig out the rest of the books by these two!
