About the Author

Born in Bath, England in 1974, a self-professed "funny onion", equal parts sport loving jock and comic book geek. From an early age reading so many works of varied authors, I took the somewhat foolhardy decision to attempt my own novel. I now have eight novels on Amazon, "Asylum - 13 Tales of Terror", "Gated", "Rapture Falls", "Fangsters" and my latest novels "Abra-Cadaver" & a new horror anthology "After Darkness Falls" Volumes One and Two. I have also just published a sequel to "Gated" called "Gated II: Ravenhill Academy" I have recently been signed by Taylor Street Books in San Francisco who will be producing my novel "The Montague Portrait" and I am currently proofing a new novel called "The Travelling Man" while writing "Double Visions" Visit me at www.mattdrabble.com Twitter: MattDrabble01 Facebook: matt.drabble.3 or to sign up for a newsletter: Matt.Drabble.Author

Loved this book, kept me entertained and guessing, I wasn't sure what was really going on and it was just scary enough without being too gross.I liked the main characters and the way the story developed.Didn't see the twists that came and I can't say more as I don't like spoilers.I enjoyed reading another book "Gated" by this author, and will be looking out for more books now, its great to find another author I like.

What a great book. This is the story of a magician whose trick goes wrong in front of a birthday party which ends up killing his wife. Could it have been an accident? No one else seems to think so and he is sentenced to life and treated very badly. After an accident at the secure institution where he is being kept the magician escapes and those who wronged him will pay dearly!
The book soon gets up to a very fast pace and does not slow down. I especially loved the end with all its twists. See what you think.

The plot is contrived and the most annoying thing is the lack of any competent proof reading (e.g. 'baton' for 'batten' and the first name of one of the main protagonists having a random change to that of another).

Overall, not a bad story but l felt it was published before it was checked. The magician Arnold Trotter was mistakenly named Albert Trotter at one point, had me wondering if our author was watching Only Fools and Horses as he wrote this! Also, was it Halstead Prison or Halsom?
Sorry, l don't think I'll be reading anymore.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys horror. It is a bit gory/unpleasant in parts but not gratuitously so and it does not eclipse the interesting unfurling of the story and characters. It is an easy and fairly forgettable read, but also entertaining exhilarating and fun.
