Product Description

Review

This book really is a thing of rare beauty ... and if you are a writer I dare you not to find inspiration for your own stories from the photographs. --Barbara Scully, Writing.ie

Captures a brooding beauty or evokes nostalgia with interiors that hint at the hubris of opulent decoration. --Books Ireland

A beautiful book catching the decaying stately homes of Ireland before they crumble, with sometimes eerie photographs that capture the ghost like quality of the subjects. I particularly like the photos of Elsinore Lodge in Sligo and its links to the smuggler John Black. May we have volume three please

This is a sad book showing the remains of the grandeur that existed in Ireland once upon a time. Photography ias a wonderful way of supplementing the written word.

I've reviewed Volume 1; what I said there applied to both books. Volume 2 has some remains in the North, which Volume 1 doesn't.

This is a wonderful book to own, the descriptions and photography are amazing, he sounds an amazing young man, and i hope we shall have further volumes of this.

I shall constantly learn from this book and it will be a treat dipping in and out of it to further gain knowledge of these old properties.

thank you

Taken a look at this book, checked out some of the information re: Claremont House in Ballyforan and have to say the information is incomplete. The family living at the house from the end of the 19th century until mid 1950's were the Kelly family - who were the last occupants of the house.
