- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 May 2023Number Of Items: 3Verified PurchaseI ordered the package of three and since I read a number of comments about possible problems, I opened and tested the following on all of them.
Following some straightforward instructions found on the web, I flashed micropython using MU and uploaded a program that connects to my wi-fi and interacts with a service. All passed the test.
I can confirm the pins are not perfectly vertical, but not at the point to be a real issue. I mounted them on a development board and a breadboard. A funny note on this. You can't actually use a standard breadboard because the pins fit into the outermost line leaving no space for your jumpers. The only solution is possibly a dedicated board or use F-M jumpers.
Tested the VIN line is correctly 5V when connected via USB.
So far I didn't find any of the defects highlighted by other users and I'm happy with the purchase.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2021Number Of Items: 5Verified PurchaseThese all worked fine but on all but one the pin headers were not soldered on straight and two would not go into a breadboard at all due to the pins being almost at 45 degrees. Some had poor soldering; dry joints so they had to be reworked. Managed to get the ones with very bent pins usable by re-soldering the pin headers and bending.
If you are wanting to solder these to a PCB be prepared for lots of pin bending, finding it still won't fit, swearing, bending a bit more, sticking one of the pin headers into your finger (ouch) until you hopefully get it to fit onto the board.
Great but if seller reads this ask the factory to ensure they are soldering the rows of pin headers on straight. As for them being bent the modules were in foam and there was no damage to the box which makes me think they were bent before being packaged. Other modules from other sellers had the same issue so I think these all come from the same factory.
Edit: seller has listened to comments regarding the pins and my suggestion of selling them without pin headers soldered and they now offer a version with unsoldered headers so no bent pin issues anymore! Changed to 5 starts due to this as AZ-Delivery do offer support and are helpful.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 March 2023Number Of Items: 5Verified Purchase⚙️ These development boards are the Nodemcu V3 ESP8266, that come with the ESP8266 microcontroller, also known as ESP-12F, which has 802.11 b/g/n WLAN and an integrated antenna. The board has a 25Q32 4M, 32mbit flash memory, and serial communication is handled by the CH340 chip. It has a breadboard-compatible connector pin pitch and can be used for home automation projects, such as temperature and humidity monitors. The board is compact, with dimensions of about 58mm by 31mm by 13mm.
⚙️ The on-board storage and processing capability make it easy to integrate with sensors and devices, and it has suitable data bus handling on some pins. The product comes with an e-book that provides information on how to start the project, but it may not be necessary for those who have experience using the board before. You can download it without purchasing it, which is useful for researching the board specifications further before purchase.
⚙️ The boards are well-made and easily integrated into a home automation system, either through a wired connection or a Wi-Fi update. The board has a sufficient number of GPIO pins for most projects, but some of the pins are used by the board itself, such as for the onboard LED. The board has internally configurable pull-up and pull-down resistors on all programmable pins, which reduces the external component count—always a plus. The board can be powered by low-current USB chargers, but the placement of the USB-micro socket may cause inconvenience. The board has pins available for direct power connections, and your project can be made shorter by cutting the connector off the end of the lead and soldering to those pins. In my view, the USB-micro socket should really be USB-C, as USB-micro is becoming obsolete.
⚙️ My projects tend to move from breadboard to prototype board, and then I just install it in a box with the sensors connected up. Because I don’t use all the GPIO pins available, this approach allows me to future-proof myself, and I can always add more capabilities later. I could go for one of the smaller boards and a dedicated PCB, but that would sacrifice flexibility.
⚙️ So far, I have had no reliability problems, and I am very happy with the boards. I would recommend them. ✔️

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 December 2021Number Of Items: 1Verified PurchaseThought my board was broken, but it turned out to be the USB cable. It's quite common for USB cables to only send power and not data. In my case I had two cables that didn't work. I finally found one that did, and now my board works fine.

I could not get Windows to see these boards at all!! turns out, the first FIVE micro USB cables I tried are charging cables ONLY and did not support data, the 6th cable worked perfect, Windows seen all 5 boards and loaded WLED on all, Great product and will be buying more in the future.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 April 2024Number Of Items: 1Verified PurchaseI bought the version of this by the same supplier that didn't have the pins already installed. That board work perfectly and it was a good job I got it otherwise I'd have been tearing my hair out with this one.
No way could I get a connection to it. Amazon refunded. I'm about to buy a few more so will be able to see if this was just a one off.

BAYLE P.Reviewed in France on 13 May 20205.0 out of 5 stars WOL par WiFi pour multiples NAS
