For anyone else like me (someone not quite as up to date with techy stuff as he used to be) who's looking through product details and reviews to see if this gizmo is not only compatible with, but also allows full control of their shiny new SKY HD+ box ??
The answer's YES !!
So long as you're using an HD remote then you have complete access to all your SKY+ features just same as if you were pointing said remote directly at your HD box.
The only problem I had was during installation when I couldn't access the technician's menu to turn on RF2's power because I was watching the screen for a reaction to each button press.
Again, for those like me (people who know we're not as stupid as we might be feeling right now) simply point the remote at your sky box, press [services] then [4] then [0] then [1] then [select] and the menu WILL appear.

No worries, changes channel as it should; don't forget a bypass amplifier will be needed if you have more than 2 tvs from the one sky box. Otherwise there's no box, no glossy packaging, which might be off-putting if you're insecure about that kind of thing, but result is far cheaper than you can get just about anywhere else.

I have three of these little gadgets scattered in my house and they all work really well.

The magic eye allows you to control the Sky box remotely and you can operate all the Sky+ functions such as changing channels, playing recorded programmes and access Sky Anytime+ - all for a one off charge and and no Sky multi-room subscription required.

The down side is that if you have more than one (hooked up) TV switched on then you have to watch the same channel. You also need to hard wire a co-axial cable from your Sky box to the back of the additional TVs.

I have a little booster positioned in my loft and this gives me a great picture on all three TVs as well as not interfering with the one in the main TV (check my other reviews for details of this as I bought it here on Amazon).

This particular magic eye is grey and not the best to have underneath a black TV so you might want to bear this in mind.

All in all though a great little gadget!

Niffty little thing is I could get it working. . . plugged it all in a could see the little box was getting no power through the LED.

Followed the instructions on how too turn the RF Socket power on and still the little box is getting no power. I did save the setting as I went back to check. I cant see that I am doing anything wrong. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Just too help other out, If you have a Sky+ HD box with the new software menu, Ignore the instructions too turn the power on as this is now wrong. What you need to do follows:

Press on the remote:
Services
0
0
1
Select

This brings up the technicians menu that's hidden, arrow left about twice on too RF outlets and turn the power on.

Hope this helps

Ordered it one day, delivered the next. Excellent serice.
The instructions had a couple of unclear points. First the eye itself doesn't light up, the plug into the back of the TV does. When looking through the menu on Sky+ set:
Services
4
0 nothing happens but continue
1 and then press the right key
My menu on the Sky plus box only showed RF on or off, set it to on. It did not give options of sockets.Make sure that RF 2 is used. My set had been set up using RF1 and didn't work until I used RF2. These were small problems and once overcome the eye worked a treat.

This product is an Infrared sender for Sky TV that enables you to operate your Sky TV box in another room via the remote.

Your Sky box must be set to send infrared through its RF2 connection.

I had a TVLink before this which was a bit useless as the connection was very on/off.

This little unit is rock solid though. Super cheap and ultra-reliable.

I have my main sky connection in the living room and wanted to be able to view the output in a second room and change the channel. This product works much better than video senders available although requires a hard line. I was able to easily change fully control my HD box including pausing and accessing all the stored programming. The quality of the picture is also good and it was very quick and easy to get working.
