This matrix switcher for stereo amplifiers has 2 inputs and 4 outputs. Any of the inputs may be routed to any of the outputs, or the same input may be routed to all outputs or any combination. Simply connect the output of the amplifiers to the inputs, these inputs can then be routed to four different stereo speaker sets in four different locations, each speaker set can be individually activated via the push buttons on the front of the box and individual volume controls.

I did some troubleshooting with different speakers and finally tried a brand new Denon DAB40 amp which gets 5 stars in What Hi-Fi magazine. The sound was marginally better as the Denon had more tonal controls to play with but the sound was still a very long way from what it should have been. At this point I removed the AV link speaker switchbox from the setup and the sound was absolutely perfect. Both high and low volumes had clean treble and solid base with no distortion even at high volume.
I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone. I previously looked at a similar unit from a company called "Niles". These have great reviews but are much more costly. I opted for the cheaper unit which turned out to be a waste of money and a huge waste of my time. The moral of the story........ You get what you pay for. An additional sting in the tale with this unit is that because it was not opened until after the warranty period there was no chance for a refund. If you are looking for a speaker matrix switch box with impedance matching that maintains the quality of the Hi-Fi sound, this is not the unit for you.
However one important thing to note is that this is note a powered unit and will not really amplify the input.
Street, this is the same nightmare you have wiring to the terminals on this otherwise well built good looking speakerw
Switch box,if you have monster cable you will never use them with this gadget! These terminals are really suitable
Only for bell wire, even one cm strand loose wire will shorten out your speakers,I managed to complete the job
With amazon speaker cable ,stripping the ends of the cables very short, even then I got one or two rogue strands
That you must deal with, the next size up in terminals would have given the unit full five stars and nil criticism.
I was a bit fearful about buying it because it was half the price of others. but i am glad did.
I have now got total control over 4 different zones (audio) I have 2 sky boxes, 1 DVD player, and 1 CD player connected to my amp and the amp is connected to the matrix box and can have different sounds coming thru my speakers.
I have total control over the volume to each set of speakers.
The only con and its not really a con is the volume can only go up or down in steps,
If you want to control the volume on different speakers the i can highly recommend this one.
