I’ve been using this for over a year I can’t say I would recommend.

Mine makes a strange hissing noise if connected to power and while connected to power the hdmi output doesn’t work, the hdmi only outputs if it is not connected to the tv first, overall doesn’t seem like a great product

Really well made, sturdy product. I have a number of products from Aukey now and none of them have failed me. The unit is small, light and does what is required. The USB-C connector plugs straight into my Macbook to allow charging. I use the hub for attaching my printer (suprisingly i still use this most months!), attaching my phone charging cable, and the occasional USB stick for transfering data from my Mac to my work laptop.

I first thought that USB C was a scam to get us all to buy new cables etc but then I came across this and changed my mind completely! I use this to connect my laptop to the TV, I can plug my charger and HDMI to this one hub alongside a memory card reader and anything else I want to through one little box. Whilst USB C is definately the future, this will bridge the gap nicely between the present and the future for me.

My new laptop doesn't have HDMI but it does have USB C. I bought this because I wanted to use my current monitor and HDMI cable, and then 4 more USB ports to plug in keyboard, mouse, printer and network dongle (RJ45).

Very happy with this and I've just ordered another so I can just unplug this one, leave everything behind and then plug my laptop into a similar setup at work. I was hoping to find a hub with an RJ45 network adapter built in but the HDMI was my #1 need and I didn't find any networking versions. I've not experienced any problems with the networking connection/speed running through this hub.

My laptop is a Lenovo Yoga900s running Windows 10. I vaguely noted the remarks about power-usage and data-transfers but can't really comment on that aspect. My old laptop using another USB hub sometimes needed me to unplug the keyboard before I could use it or lost the network but no problems experienced with this AUKEY hub.

I bought this to sue on my Samsung windows tablet having moved to this from a 12" MacBook . The AUKEY allows pass through charging whilst providing 4 x USB 3 ports and an HDMI, All works as well as I hoped allowing access to all these ports through the tablets single USB C. I paid £29.99 and I think that's fair for what is a well made device that just works.

Defective - but had potential.

Constant high pitched noise emanating from it when plugged in. Even without any devices attached. Device worked as it should, but with an obvious flaw - constant squeal. Relieved to read other reviews with strange noises - thought i had developed tinnitus. Would have preferred a replacement than a refund but hey ho. May revisit this product in the future as i hope it was only a defective one, but for now I'll look at an alternative.

Does NOT work on non-Windows OS

I agree with the top rated reviewer that gave this product one star.

I bought this device based on claims that it is compatible with my laptop (Dell XPS 13), claims which are only partially true.
I can confirm that it indeed works on Windows, but not on Linux which is what my Dell is running on. The monitor remains blank and the OS fails to recognize the HDMI connection.

The USB ports run correctly on both OS.

My final rating of two stars comes from the fact that Aukey specifies my laptop as being compatible while failing to recognize that not all users are running Windows as an OS. I call this false advertising.
