I bought the Asus DSL-AC52U to replace the Talktalk Super router hg633.The Wi-Fi from the Asus is already faster than the hg633.I have a Synology NAS and the speed I was getting copying files to it via the Talktalk router was only 11mb per second.Now it's hitting 43 mb per second using the Asus(via Lan cable).The speed settled down to 38 mb per second when I was copying about 145 gb of data to the NAS.I have not tried copying data to the NAS via Wi-Fi so I'm not sure if it would be faster or slower than the Lan cable.The internet speedtests for the Asus are no quicker than the hg633.The Asus is peaking at about 40 mb per second which is just about the same as the hg633 box.What is really amazing is it's so easy to setup.I just selected Talktalk(automatic ip) set my passwords for login of the router and securing of the Wi-Fi and in less than 10 minutes I was getting the internet.

great features. I love the ability to filter my son's equipment by Mac address - both for time of day & content.

The ipv6 '6in4' option doesn't work.

Really let down by reliability. It has a strong sense of being released before it was stable. What's more, I think the manufacturer knows this - it has a feedback button with reliability questions.

Sadly, I had to return it. Ordering a billion for a tenner more because I know it's reliable.

So far so good. I have had this running for three days now (ok not long). Initially the router lost the ISP settings and disconnected due to an unsuccessful hardware update. I reset the device and went through the motions a second time and since then it has been fine. WiFi coverage throughout the house (solid brick/stone walls, not cavity) has been excellent, even on the 5GHz bandwidth, and I have the network linked up to power-line adaptors which is also very fast. All much better than the standard router that came from the ISP. In addition, though this may be a bit larger than a standard router, it takes up less space and requires fewer cables than a router and separate modem.

Many of my computer components and peripherals are manufactured by ASUS and once again I cannot fault them. The quality verses the price is very good.

The device was dead on arrival. ASUS customer support is a pretty deep hole to go down, which is what amazon points you to if you try to request support. If ASUS can't deliver a working device with no moving parts, in a pristine box, I am probably going to look elsewhere in future.
