Please forgive the undoubtedly poor Latin translation but this is so genuinely "Gloriously Ridiculous" that it felt like it needed something more grandiose as a title! This is yet another massively high octane episode of the Arisen series. A book that lasts twice as long as the events it describes and yet feels like it is running at absolutely breakneck pace from start to finish. It scales the heights of absurdity at times but if that's a problem to you then you wouldn't have got this far. This one does though feature some super-hero like performances from some of the operators at times!

I know that some people think this series needs to be brought to a conclusion and I do accept the point but I will sure miss it when it's over and done. There are hints in this one that we are not too far from the end in "Carnage".

As for the narration . . . well who else could do one of these but RC Bray? A man who could read me the telephone directory for an hour and make it sound exciting. So, if you liked what went before and want some more then hit the purchase button without fear. If you're new to the Arisen series then start from the beginning; if you like this kind of thing you won't regret it.

This is amazing!!
Having gone through a load of personal pain and still come out the other end with a masterpiece of apocalyptic literature is outstanding dude.
This series has hooked me so deep that it actually affect my emotions. I felt sad, tearful, angry and happy throughout.
Cannot wait for the next book

This series gets better and better! The scenes in the plane are absolutely amazing, so imaginative and well written. The highs and lows of this were brilliant, I cried and got angry but ultimately felt energised!!!! Excited for the last 2 books.

This series just continues to blow my mind. Books 11 & 12 are really two volumes of one book, telling the story of Alpha/MARSOC v Spestnaz. Fuchs has masterfully managed a complex mini saga within the overarching tale of the battle to defend the remaining bastion of humanity in Fortress Britain; the structurend of the story told in these two novels matches anything George RR Elliott (whose novels are a masterclass in editing) has produced.
The tale is breathtaking in its pace and heartstopping drama, second by second action painted in minute exquisite detail. I don'the want to include any story details for those who are new to the series but safe to say - it only gets better. After listening to all the Audible books, I started in on the Kindle versions of the latest novels, devouring them like a Foxtrot November with a living human in front of me. As soon as I finished I instantly started listening to the series anew.
Fuchs has struggled through these latest novels, but by God has it been worth it for us fans.
