Give your robotic fish freedom to swim with this Hexbug Aquabot Fish Bowl set. Using electro-magnetic propulsion to move about underwater, this first water-born Hexbug can dive, turn around and swim up, just like a real fish. Unlike a real fish, however, there's no mess and this little critter only comes to life in water - a sensor means it turns off out of water. Great for children aged three and up, this Aquabot needs 2 x LR44 batteries, which are included. One Aqua Bot fish is included (styles vary).

My grandson doesn't have any real pets so I thought this might be a fun item for him to play with. The bowl that it comes with isn't huge, but is a perfect size for filling with water and carrying to the kitchen table to watch the Aquabot swim round. We also put it in an empty bath so that he could drop the Aquabot in from a height without worrying about how much water was splashing out of the bowl. He also spent some time turning the bowl in different directions to see if this made it harder or easier for the Aquabot to keep swimming. I'm quite happy to let him do these things, otherwise there's not a lot to get out of it other than watching it swim round a bowl.

Delivery was a bit on the slow side, but I had good comms from the company when I queried this and it turned out that the delay wasn't their fault. Well packaged and delivered safely. My son had been banging on about wanting one of these for ages but has hardly played with it since Christmas day, but that's not the product's fault...

Not very happy with this. After waiting a while for it to be delivered, I got it out, with the instructions saying that the batteries were already put in, put it in the water and it didn't work. After taking it out again and wiggling the tail fin, I dropped it in. This time it did work, but only for about a minute before cutting out again, even though the packaging clearly states that it would work for 5 minutes. After trying again, and again, the longest swim I got out of it was about 2 minutes. One positive thing I would say, is that amazon were fine with us returning it, and they refunded us everything.

Pathetic piece of plastic with a motor in it. How do they get away with selling this crap for these exorbitant prices? And how did I succumb to the advertising? My ykids were disappointed too.

Only worked for about 15 minutes :( We spent over £40 on various ones and they all ceased to work, either immediately or within the hour. Some are completely dead, others randomly start working in the middle of the night and die again.

Product arrived quickly but batteries were broken and fish not working. So disappointing and terrible quality.
My children have a couple of these and robo fish, we think they are awesome! We put them in the bath with my 4 & 6 year old and keep them amused, also a bargaining toy to get...Read more
It swims, it floats, but it does have a tendency to stick to the sides. Fun to watch though.
Stopped working after about 10 minutes but changed batteries and fine.
if you want to see how a fish would slowly die, then buy this. It's terrible. Nothing like as fun as the bugs.
