Thought I would treat myself to this monitor as I've been using a cheap 22" 60hz 1080p display for many years now, and I thought my GTX 1080 was wasted on it.
Received the item and felt it was very good value for money. Right out of the box it looks like and feels like a premium product.
Setup was very easy, plug it in with displayport and USB cable to the PC and download the necessary drivers from the AOC website. Extremely easy.
For gaming it is incredible. Going from a 1080p 60hz monitor to 1440p 144hz (or even 165hz if I feel the need) it is just amazing. Already I feel like I am playing better on many games (especially PUBG).
Unfortunately there are some slight downsides to this monitor. With it being a TN panel the colours are not amazing. It is a gaming monitor so I guess that's to be expected. If you're planning on doing graphic or colour work then I wouldn't recommend this monitor.
Another issue is that there is an odd grainy finish to the screen. It makes whites especially look a little weird, but when you are gaming it really isn't noticeable! From what I can see, the majority (if not all - I'm not sure) 144hz displays have a matte/grainy finish on the screen, so it might not be such a downside if so.
All in all a very good 1440p 144hz gaming monitor. Some say 24" in too small to see the advantage of 1440p, but I have to disagree, it looks amazing and is a perfect size on my desk.
the one thing I do have an issue with is that when the monitor arrived it seems it did not come packaged with a warranty card nor the necessary screws to mount the monitor to the monitor stand. I don't mind for now but I would like to know if it is possible to know the size of these screws or whether it is possible to be sent replacements from AOC?

Not tested it yet, as I don't have the screws to fit it to the stand. Also the box looked like it had been opened already, but I'm guessing that was just to place a UK mains plug... Read morePublished 26 days ago by Luke T.
