This is an excellent case for an HTPC. Its attractive, has unobtrusive lights and more than ample fans.
Just be aware of the following limitations:
You won't fit a large high end video card in it, despite having enough height and enough power to run it, there isn't enough depth. (you shouldn't need this for HTPC though! passive!)
It's a good inch/25mm wider than your 'hifi' equipment and looks a little odd. It wouldn't fit in the space above my receiver, I can only blame myself here for assuming it would be hifi size.
I thought the wires for the front power/HDD light etc were short considering where they have to reach. I had to extend the power switch wire.
This was my first ever PC build and was tremendously easy with this unit....I partnered is up with an ASUS M4A78-VM 780G and Samsung Spinpoint 1TB hd. Runs like a dream! There is plenty space in the unit to comfortsbly run the cables around, and also plenty of power from the PSU. I was also looking at the Antec Micro fushion, but picked this unit over the Micro Fusion, due to the fact that you can fit two hard drives into the unit, which I think is really useful when recording loads of TV (if your using the unit as a HTPC....)
The only reason I am giving this unit 4 stars is simply because it is such a beast of a unit! I am killing myself trying to find a Hi Fi unit that will actually fit the damn thing! (Approx 450mm deep) I would advise checking out the "Optimum Prelude OPT-5000". I've opted for building my own shelving to accommodate the unit, but it is worth the run around. The unit is super quite.....
This is the second one i have used to build media centres . Good cooling bit tight when using sata psu with 6 feeds. also only just enough room for my graphics card height wise (ATI radeon HD 4800)Be careful when choosing your motherboard because the Radeon Takes up so much space that you cannot get much more to the rear ports access. For a mid level system no problems.... for any higher, look at the next level price wise Antec up media case..Hiacekim
Although a little on the large side for some tastes this is a great enclosure. Punchy power supply, quiet in operation and with enough room to install components without difficulty and plenty of room for expansion.
